Yoga is so, SO much more than shapes and postures and “deep breaths to relax”. I’d love to share some of it with you!
The Yamas (ethical disciplines of yoga) a 5-class journey now available on Inner Roar’s on-demand.
The first Limb of Classical Yoga (Patanjali’s 8 Limbs) is known as the Yamas, translated simply as ethical disciplines or moral guidelines for a student of yoga.
Traditionally, these ideas speak to the way a yogi is meant to behave and live in accordance with a high moral code - to be conscious, compassionate, ethical, honest and fair.
Our ethical disciplines are a barometer for how we interact with the world, the world around us and our world within as well.
We can interpret these ideas in a modern-day sense as an opportunity to observe the way we move through life, how we relate to other people, and how we treat each other and ourselves - even in the moments when no one is watching. These disciplines encourage us to direct our energy, or our life force, in a way that will be beneficial. To really live our best.
Try these 5 practices to digest each Yama and see how each can apply to your life.
There are Five Ethical Disciplines to explore and all kinds of ways to apply these moral codes to our daily actions.
You can find them laid out together through the inner roar on-demand course. They are included with both inner roar on-demand subscriptions or can be explored with a rental.
