We had so much fun rolling in the comox valley pride parade this weekend and hope you got to stop in and say hi to us at Pride in the park! We are North Island Roller Derby, and we are an open gender roller derby team in comox valley. If you want to join in on our fun, our classes start Sep 13 ( you don’t need to know how to skate - we teach that!)

Register now for “Rollerskating 101: Derby Edition” classes starting this September through Cumberland Recreation! We teach you everything you need to know to get you safe and confident on skates. Whether you want to progress to roller derby/officiating or are just looking to sweat, meet new friends, and have fun learning a new skill - this 10 week session is for you. Not interested in playing full contact? We need officials too! No experience necessary and gear is available to borrow (please contact by email or socials for availability).

Bittersweet day for NIRD as our beloved Sassy led her last practice before her impending move (and arrival of 2 small humans)! We’ve been so lucky to have her great vibes, leadership, knowledge, and amazing skill on the track for the last couple of years. Please join us in wishing her the absolute best on this next adventure. We will miss the heck out of you 💚🩵

The NIRDs are rolling into Victoria Curling Club this July 4th for an evening of full-contact roller derby, fierce competition, and nonstop action! This themed Bout will be the Rainbow Riders (NIRD's) against the Glitter Bombs (Hardcores). Stick around as the Belles and Pushers face off afterward making it a full night of derby!
