Seaway Karate Club

Seaway Karate Club At Seaway Karate Club you will learn the Chito-Ryu style of Karate and various Self-Defence techniques. Great exercise, great fun with great friends!

KARATE (Japanese for empty hand) is a form of unarmed self defense, however, it is much more than this. This martial art embodies self discipline, positive attitude and high moral standards along with self defense. There are many different Karate styles and levels of training. There are just as many varieties in the types of students and their reasons for studying martial arts. Whatever your reaso

n for studying martial arts you have joined a rapidly growing number of people with similar goals and interests as yourself. As a member of Seaway Karate Club you will be studying a variation of the Chito-Ryu style of Karate. To this we have added a self defense system consisting of simple, easy to learn techniques. These techniques are applied using gross motor skills, which are simple whole body movements. These are easily retained and more likely to be successful during stressful conditions than fancy techniques employing fine motor skills. This system provides a complete regiment suitable for those seeking physical exercise, self defense skills and/or sport competition. You are invited to attend one of our classes free of charge at either location below on their respective date:

INGLESIDE - Mondays : 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Rothwell-Osnabruck School
1 College St. Elementary school gym, located at west end of building. Please use west entrance

CORNWALL - Thursdays : 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Cornwall Collegiate and Vocational Institute

UPDATE:

We have been approved for six (possibly seven) outdoor classes, commencing this coming Monday at 6 PM, at RO School in Ingleside; NOT Lakeview Park as previously noted.

All participants, regardless of vaccination status, will be required to complete a Covid Self Assessment form prior to arrival. This form will be made available shortly.

We will be accepting a limited number of new students, ages seve (7) and up. Should you or anyone you know be interested, please put a message in the comments below and we will get back to you ASAP.

Cost for all classes will be $40.

We look forward to getting back to training and are still hoping to move to an indoor venue for the colder months. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Unfortunately we have not received a definitive response from the School Board regarding indoor classes yet. We continue work with the School Board and to explore other venues and opportunities that meet our needs in this difficult time.

However, in the meantime we would like to start outdoor classes for existing members. Classes will be a 6PM each Monday at Lakeview park. While training well ensure that Covid protocols are adhered to; more details to follow.

Again, these are for existing students at this time.

Post any questions you may have in the comments below.

Please note if you were previously “friends” with Jim Riddell, he had an account back earlier this year. If you received a friend request from him within the last few months, it is legit! Thanks 😊
He is wearing a green shirt in his new account profile picture and Ilona is in the pic as well.
