CANCAST Fishing & Tackle Show Returns for 5th Anniversary with the Muskie Odyssey in 2026
Peterborough will once again become the centre of the angling community in Canada as the CANCAST Fishing & Tackle Show celebrates its 5-year anniversary on March 29, 2026. The event is set to be the largest in its history, bringing record numbers of vendors, attendees, and activities to the region.
This year, CANCAST is proud to announce an exciting collaboration with Muskies Canada to present CANCAST & the Muskie Odyssey—uniting two major fishing events under one ticket. Anglers and outdoor enthusiasts will have access to three venues across Peterborough:
· The Peterborough Memorial Centre
· The Morrow Building
· The Double ice pad and outdoor expo space at the Kinsmen Civic Centre
“This is going to be something special,” said Kyle Carruthers, Founder of CANCAST. “We really wanted to bring something special to the fishing community, especially after the challenges of last year’s ice storm. Partnering with an incredible organization like Muskies Canada brings this event full circle. Not only does it add the Muskie Odyssey to the lineup, but it also expands our footprint with two additional ice pads and outdoor space. Together, we are creating the most multi-species, all-fishing event in Canada! We can’t thank the City of Peterborough enough for welcoming us again and helping us bring this to life. With shuttles between venues and a full logistics plan in place, this is going to be both an angler’s dream and a fun, family-friendly event and the best part is its one ticket for both shows!"
"The Muskie Odyssey is back for 2026 in a big way!" says Joseph Found the President of Muskies Canada Inc., a not for profit that promotes the sport fishing and conservation of Muskellunge. “On behalf of Muskies Canada and the Muskie Odyssey Committee, the excitement we have in teaming up with CANCAST to connect our authentic and unique event with the whole fishing community is super high. It certainly gives our messaging to a wider audience to connect with, which is crucial to our efforts in awareness and efficacy. We really appreciate CANCAST being conservation forward, we can’t wait for the exciting road ahead approaching the event. Come and connect with our community, take part in seminars, hear speakers give their expertise on fishing tactics and science, and have access to handmade muskie baits and tackle by some of the best lure makers in the world.”
The CANCAST 2026 experience will feature industry-leading vendors, tackle demonstrations, expert seminars, youth programs, and interactive attractions, all designed to celebrate Canada’s vibrant fishing community.
