LONG POST LOL; Oh my goodness, it's been over a year since my last and very emotional announcement to close PSDA!😢 As most of you know, myself and most of my family are now in NS (our oldest happily remains in ON, but visits /phone calls are often). I'm excited to say that we are loving it here, and we have seen and enjoyed so much of the culture and the wonderful landscape that NS is❤ However.....as weeks have turned into months, I have enjoyed a semi-retired status but have truly missed being with "my students/kids", and kicking it up in the studio! I have continued to stay connected with many of my past/present students, and I am truly blessed that you' have kept me up to date in your lives and achievements❤....it has reminded me also of what I miss the most....my true passion....dance, and sharing that passion!!! A random phone call in December truly hit me....a prior student who is now 8 called me and the first words I heard; "Miss Kim"!....gosh... I thought I won the lottery! She told me all about her new dance teacher and classes at the same location I used to call my 2nd home. I was a little jealous but just so happy that she continued to grow and do what she loved; no matter who helps her on her journey, and so many of us are part of her journey ❤....So....I have been blessed to once again put on my dancing shoes and share my passion and joy of dance once more as "Miss Kim"; in the small town of Truro, NS, with Stagecoach Performing Arts❤ I can sincerely only say; Thank-you to all of my wonderful family, students and parents over the years that have not only supported me, but continued to still reach out from afar and remind me of what I was, who I am and what I LOVE❤❤❤❤ THANK-YOU!❤❤❤❤

So I have officially closed my studio of 25yrs early due to the lockdown restrictions as of Dec. 26th:) I am disappointed that I couldn't see my 25th Anniversary show in June, but can only hope and pray that my wonderful colleagues will continue to have your support when they reopen and/or offer classes online! They need you, and you and your children need them! Please dont let them down.....they have put their heart and soul into your child/ren; even above their own long before Covid! These wonderful dance teachers will continue to do the same for years to come because they LOVE your children and LOVE what they do!❤

What a blessing all of my Students and Parents have been to me in 25yrs❤❤❤ I will NEVER FORGET YOU😭❤
Dear Wonderful Parents and Students,

As this past year has been so challenging for so many of us, we have all had to make sacrifices and changes that were not what we could have ever imagined!!!!

In my 25yrs. Of teaching, I have enjoyed so so many wonderful memories of teaching and guiding so many young to older children and adults, and can only hope that each and everyone has enjoyed their time with me as much as I have enjoyed my time with you/them over the past and present years!!!

Today, I make one of the most difficult decisions of my life, and please just know; that I am in tears as I write this final email:(

It is with so much regret that in light of our “latest” lockdown, that I have no choice but to close our PSDA doors; and say farewell to SO many wonderful 2nd family members of now; and of over my 25yrs. All of my past and present students/families have brought me so much joy, and honestly, I am just so blessed to have known all of you!!!!

Oh my gosh, this is so tough, and I feel so much guilt and emotion in making this choice....if this was paper; I would have to continue writing over for all the “tears”:( However, this will be a long and maybe winded email lol, as I just want to leave no word unsaid.

It is quite incredible to even write this email, as I truly believed that I would just have done my 25th yr.; and celebrated with so many past and present....that was my vision, and in honestty; my last show; but sadly; this world pandemic has taken this away! I am understanding that perhaps we can all get back to normal in Februray, but unfortunately I also understand and look at the unfortunate reality that contiuned lockdown may be extended and so many; including myself, are not ok with “online” classes....I blame no one for feeling this way, and would so much rather be face to face with your children as well! I have forever had a “small” but wonderful studio of students’ in the past, and with this year’s “less than capacity” smaller enrollment, I enjoyed them even more; but unfortunately, it has no doubt put much financial pressure on myself and my family to maintain what we have ourselves:(

Please know, I feel no regret financially; but only emotionally, and I am so very sorry for all of my amazing students that will learn this decision!!!! Please know that I want them to continue to dance, I want them to continue to succeed, and most importantly; I want them to be happy and POSITIVE in their future endeavours!!!!!

For you; my wonderful parents; Continue to support yourselves; be well and positive, and teach your children to be the same.....they need YOU most!!!! Don’t let them down!!!! As I have always said, the stage is just the performance, but it’s what goes on behind the stage that really counts:)This has always worked for US!!!!!

In closing, I can only say a sincere and heartfelt “Thank-you”, for a wonderful 25yrs, and know that I sincerely love you all!!!!!

After consulting with my cabinet, Ontario Ministry of Health and our Chief Medical Officer of Health, we have decided that studios can restart classes in modified Stage 2 regions.

Please ensure you continue to physically distance, wear a mask and wash your hands regularly.
