The first response is dependent on your actions.

The second one is dependent on your view your "Self".

We're more likely to follow through on things that reconcile with who we believe we are, as opposed to things we only think we should do.

Being *someone* who is too busy will leave you finding ways to prove that you're too busy.

Being *someone* who goes for walks every day will have you finding ways to go for walks - even if you happen to be busy.

Addiction: When scratching a specific itch in a specific way doesn't satisfy the itch like it used to, so now you feel like your ONLY option is to try to scratch harder and more often - even though it hurts.

Take a moment to reframe your thoughts when you're struggling to get going on a challenging action.

Align the action with a deep purpose or your core values. Give yourself a reason strong enough so that it would suck to NOT do it.

Or how about this, what if you reframed or modified the action so that it became more accessable? Enjoyable? Even desirable?

Reframing is not an easy thing to do. That's what makes the results so powerful.

Try giving more work to your glutes. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Are you trying to balance out your impressively strong πŸ‘?
Try giving your quads a little extra attention. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Is your gym-crush there with their new bf/gf?
Get them both 'miring you by using your entire lower body to move some heavy-ass weight. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

My point is, if you want to squat. Then, squat. Despite any limitations you may have. You have options.

And like any relationship, there's going to be some miscommunication and confusion here and there.

Very early in my career, a bootcamp client told me that her back was feeling especially tired and achy, and asked me if she still had to do the exercise at her station.

With an empathetic voice, I said,

"You're a grown-ass woman. You don't have to do anything you don't want to."

We both smiled and she sat down on the bench to take a break.

I realized early on the importance of clients taking ownership of their decisions instead of relying on us trainers/coaches to decide what's best for them.

If you never learn how to do it for yourself, you'll be relying on trainers forever.

I don't want you to HAVE to work with me for forever.

I want you to WANT to work with me forever.

Forever-ever?

What you experience from our time together is not limited at answering "Which muscle should I be feeling?" or "Am I doing this right?"

The benefits don't end once you walk out of the gym and get on with your day.
