Flying with foils 🪽

EMIRA IV is a next-generation foiling IMOCA. The foils were fitted when the boat was new in 2022 - some stats you might not know 👀👇

⛵️ Each foil weighs around 150kg, extends 5m from the hull, and covers around 3.3m² surface area
🌊 In the right conditions, the foils can lift the boat completely out of the water for short periods of time
🚀 Top speed 40 knots

Inspiring the next generation 🌊

For the young sailors in this year’s Pathway Programme, the experience was about more than time on the water.

It was about seeing what’s possible, learning from Scott Shawyer and being inspired to think about what they might be capable of.

Canada Ocean Racing was founded to achieve something that has never been done before: become the first Canadian to complete the world's toughest solo racing challenge, the and inspire a new generation to follow their dreams in offshore sailing.

The Youth Pathway Programme is part of that mission. Watch the full video on YouTube

Canada → Next chapter 🇨🇦🌊

It's been a busy summer in Collingwood - we're leaving Canada after months of training, learning and miles sailed.

Every session, every sail and every challenge has been in preparation of the Route du Rhum - Destination Guadeloupe later this year.

Now it’s time to put everything we’ve learned into practice. Thanks for being part of our journey, here's to the next chapter.
