πŸ’™ Making a Difference for Youth Mental Health πŸ’™

We are honoured to donate $3,000 to support Mental Health First Aid training at Clarenville High School.

Mental health education is an important step in ensuring our youth have access to understanding, support, and resources when they need them most. This training helps create a community where young people feel seen, heard, and supported.

Every donation we make in this area is made with one purpose in mind: to honour the memory of Davis and continue his legacy by supporting mental health awareness and education for future generations.

Together, we can help make a difference. πŸ’™

This afternoon, Jason Didham, representing The Davis Didham Memorial Golf Tournament, stopped by to present a cheque that will fund Mental Health First Aid training for our staff. DMA will partner with Stella Maris Academy next fall to participate in this valuable program. Today Davis would have turned 24; making the presentation extra meaningful.

We are incredibly grateful to the tournament committee for making this opportunity possible. Mental Health First Aid training equips school staff with essential skills to support student well-being, and we believe it is something that should be available to all school personnel. 🎈 Happy Heavenly Birthday, Davis πŸ’™

Today, you would have turned 24 years old.

Not a day goes by that you aren't thought of, missed, and remembered by so many people whose lives you touched. Your smile, your kindness, and your spirit continue to inspire us and remind us why we gather each year in your memory.

While we wish we could celebrate this special day with you here, we take comfort in knowing that your legacy lives on through the friendships, memories, and the work we do to support mental health in your honour.

Happy Birthday, Davis. Forever 19. Forever loved. Forever missed. πŸ’™β›³

πŸ’™ Supporting Youth Mental Health πŸ’™

The Davis Didham Memorial Golf Tournament is proud to donate $2,000 to Mobile Central High School to support Mental Health First Aid training.

This important training helps adults recognize when a young person may be struggling and provides the tools to offer support and connect them with the help they need.

By investing in mental health education, we're helping create a stronger, more supportive community for our youth.

All in memory of Davis, whose legacy continues to inspire conversations, awareness, and support for mental health. πŸ’™

πŸ’™ June is Men's Mental Health Month πŸ’™

As we recognize Men's Mental Health Month, we remember the importance of checking in on the men in our lives, not just when they appear to be struggling, but every day.

Many men carry burdens that others never see. They may be the ones supporting their families, helping friends, showing up for others, and quietly facing challenges of their own. Too often, they feel they must do it alone.

This month, we also hold space for the families and friends who have lost loved ones to mental health struggles. Their lives mattered. Their stories matter. And their memories remind us why these conversations are so important.

A simple conversation, a phone call, a message, or an invitation to spend time together can make more of a difference than we realize.

πŸ’™ Reach out.
πŸ’™ Listen without judgment.
πŸ’™ Encourage open conversations.
πŸ’™ Let the men in your life know they don't have to carry everything on their own.

If you're struggling, please know that asking for help is a sign of strength. Support is available, and hope is real.

In Canada, free, confidential support is available 24/7 by calling or texting 988.
This June, let's work together to break the stigma, foster connection, and remind every man that he is valued, supported, and never alone.

One conversation can change a life.
One connection can save a life.
Let's keep talking." πŸ’™

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH MAY BE ENDING,
BUT THE CONVERSATION CONTINUES. πŸ’šβ›³

Mental health awareness isn't limited to one month on the calendar.
The conversations must continue.
The stigma must continue to be challenged.
The support must continue to be offered.
The people who are struggling still need to be seen.
The people grieving a loss still need compassion.
The people living with mental illness still deserve understanding.
The people fighting silent battles still need hope.

And the reminder that it's okay to ask for help must never stop. At the Davis Didham Memorial Golf Tournament, we believe that every conversation matters, every act of kindness matters, and every life matters.

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we remain committed to promoting awareness, supporting those who are struggling, and honouring the memory of Davis that inspired this tournament.
πŸ’š Check in on your people.
πŸ’š Listen without judgment.
πŸ’š Reach out when you need support.
πŸ’š Keep the conversation going.

Because mental health matters every day of
the year.

Today is World Schizophrenia Awareness Day πŸ’š

This day is about breaking stigma, educating ourselves, and showing compassion for those living with schizophrenia and psychosis-related illnesses. Too often, myths and misunderstanding create fear and isolation for individuals and families affected by mental illness.

Schizophrenia is not a β€œsplit personality.” It is a complex mental health condition that affects how a person thinks, feels, and experiences the world. With early diagnosis, treatment, support, and understanding, people living with schizophrenia can lead meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Let’s use today to:
βœ”οΈ Learn the signs of early psychosis
βœ”οΈ Encourage open conversations about mental health
βœ”οΈ Support individuals and families without judgment
βœ”οΈ Replace stigma with empathy and understanding

No one should feel alone in their mental health journey.
