Big White Winter Rally. The photos show how it went. In case you're the type that like some words though I'll try to keep it short. I had a few simple goals coming into this, and I think it's important to set those expectations prior to a race. While I race to win, & I race to compete those can mean different things at different times. Goals, finish (hopefully not too far back). Get more comfortable with the car. Make Subaru contingency. Hi five rally friends & enjoy sliding around in the snow. I started off cautiously, I'll admit that was slower than I'd have liked. Stage 3 came with a front damper letting go, for no real reason other than it's time was up. A quick search around the pits and found one hiding in trailer. Sam being the legend he is, agreed to loan it out. .deen got it installed & realizing I now had zero chance of a good finish I was pumped to get back out with the focus on having fun. Snow started really coming down, & having fun lead to passing 2 cars on stage, and 4 off stage. We jumped up 12 spots in the standings. Had more fun. Kept it on the road, and brought it home in a spot I was content with. By the afternoon I really felt for the first time I was beginning to come to grips with the car, as I was able to realize just how poor my notes have gotten haha. as totally expected kicked ass all weekend long. Zero mistakes, zero unknown questions, a decorative recce car, and a great attitude. Back at home it's easy to reflect on how fortunate I am to be able to do stuff like this. It was honestly pretty amazing to have SO many people come up, and welcome me back. The positive words, the general happy vibes from so many people and old friends was rad. Many thanks to everyone who makes it possible. for the extensive setup, wiring, and prep before the event. The Deen family for hosting us, the event organizers & volunteers, & the other competitors for giving me some new goals to chase. #100
