Dear Northumberland Soccer Club Members,
Now that our House League, Development, and Rep team seasons are well underway, we would like to take a moment to thank everyone for their continued commitment and enthusiasm. It’s been great to see our fields full and our players enjoying the game.
With the season in full swing, this is also a good time to remind everyone of our club’s expectations around conduct. A positive, respectful environment is essential to ensuring a great experience for all players, coaches, referees, and families.
We ask all members to keep the following in mind:
Players are expected to demonstrate sportsmanship, respect teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials, and play with integrity.
Coaches are expected to lead by example, foster a supportive and inclusive environment, and prioritize player development and enjoyment.
Referees should be treated with respect at all times. They play a critical role in the game, and their decisions must be accepted.
Parents and spectators are encouraged to cheer positively and support all players. Sideline behavior should always remain respectful—please cheer, not coach.
In soccer, parents and coaches are not allowed on the field unless the referee gives permission. This rule is in place to ensure that the game is for the players and that parents and coaches do not interfere with the game. The referee is the authority figure who controls the game and can stop play if necessary.
Our club has a zero-tolerance approach to abusive, disrespectful, or unsportsmanlike behavior. These standards are in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone involved in the game.
We appreciate your cooperation and continued support in making Northumberland Soccer Club a positive and welcoming community for all.
Thank you, and best of luck to all teams throughout the remainder of the season.
Sincerely,
Northumberland Soccer Club
