More Than Meets The 👁
Snowmobiling is a 12-month activity - even if there's only snow for some of them.

September is about coming together👥. Two weeks ago, members (Snowmobile Clubs) from across Ontario gathered at the OFSC AGM & Convention to share ideas, make decisions and help shape our future. Over the next few weeks, keep an eye on your inbox and the OFSC website for all you need to know about the upcoming Ontario Snowmobiling Season.

There's a place for you in the 12 Months of Snowmobiling. Connect with your local club and try volunteering — for a day, a project or a season.

❄️ ANOTHER SEASON. ANOTHER AGM. ANOTHER “WHO’S GONNA DO IT?” 😂

Another AGM is upon us, and this year we’re going to cut right to the chase:

Opeongo needs a crew.

Not just people to swing a chainsaw for a Saturday or hop in a groomer when the snow gets good — although we’ll happily take those too. 😉

We need people willing to help run the club that keeps the whole damn thing moving.

There’s paperwork. Money. Trails. Grooming. Signage. Volunteers. Landowners. Projects. And the occasional “well, that wasn’t supposed to happen…” thrown in for good measure.

Right now, there simply aren’t enough shoulders under the load.

And what we do matters beyond the trail.

Every sled that rolls through our system can mean fuel in a tank, a hot meal, a room for the night and dollars spent in our local communities.

Snowmobile trails support winter tourism.
Winter tourism supports local businesses.
And volunteers make those trails possible.

So yeah… this AGM is kind of a big one.

We need a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Groomer Coordinator, Trails Coordinator, ORS and Volunteer Coordinator.

Never done it before?

Neither had any of us until somebody showed us how.

Come learn. Come ask questions. Come bring whatever skills you’ve got to the table.

Because after 40+ years, Opeongo has way too much history — and way too much trail ahead of us — to stop here.

No volunteers. No club. No trails.

Maybe it’s time to stop saying “somebody should…”

Maybe you’re somebody. 👊❄️

A new to us 2012 Trailbully was delivered last week, thanks to the OFSC. This unit will replace our existing 2004 BR180 currently used as a District Standby.
Our District maintains a standby in order to fill in for out of service units throughout the season. Equipment breaks at times and these units help fill in until repairs can be made.
