White Forest Farm is a family owned and operated riding facility in the Ottawa Valley, just minutes from the Ottawa River. We offer riding lessons and summer camps for children of all ages and abilities. We have a herd of 10 wonderful horses and ponies that can accommodate all levels of riders. Meet the Herd Monday: Rudolph (Rudy)

📏 Height: 12hh2 (and growing!)
🎨 Color: Chestnut
🐎 Breed: New Forest Pony (from the wonderful Pferde Traum Farm)

Rudy joined us as part of the second trailerload of ponies from Pferde Traum Farm, and we’ve completely fallen for the New Forest breed. Their incredible personalities, athleticism, and versatility have us head over heels—and Rudy is no exception.

As he grows, Rudy is starting to resemble Chester more and more (which was Bronwyn’s hope!), but with his own mischievous and confident personality that promises plenty of fun as he matures. We’re excited to see him develop as he gets closer to his third birthday and begins his "grown-up" work.

We hope everyone is enjoying the spring sunshine, time with family, and maybe even a little chocolate today.
Around the farm, the horses are enjoying the warmer weather, longer days, and plenty of hay — and we’re getting excited as the barn prepares for the return of lessons.

Our Spring Riding and Vaulting Programs begin the week of April 13, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the farm soon!

Meet the Herd Monday: Cappuccino (Cheenie)

🐎 Breed: Welsh Pony/Paint Cross

Cappuccino, affectionately known as Cheenie, was born right here at the farm to our beloved mare Java and a Welsh Cob stallion. She’s a people-loving pony with a heart full of energy and enthusiasm.

Cheenie has incredible movement and is an eager jumper, with a special passion for fox hunting and cross-country jumping. If you connect with her, you’ll share a bond like no other, though she is not always the right fit for beginner riders.

Her unique combination of lightness and responsiveness, without being over-sensitive, makes her a fantastic teacher for more advanced riders. Cheenie insists on light rein aids, offering valuable lessons in finesse as riders progress in their journey.

Our Riding and Vaulting Programs start the week of April 13, and we are getting excited to welcome everyone back to the barn.

☀️ Summer Camp registration is open! 🐴

Our overnight camps are a wonderful opportunity for kids to experience life at the farm — from riding and vaulting to learning horsemanship, teamwork, and building friendships that last far beyond camp week.

One of the highlights of every camp is our final day showcase, where family members are invited to join us at the farm and watch the campers demonstrate what they’ve learned during the week. From vaulting routines to new riding skills, it’s always a special moment for campers to share their progress and celebrate their achievements.

🏆 Introduction to Competition Camp (July 20-24 and July 27-31)

Meet the Herd Monday: Firenze (Ren)

🐴 Born: 2021
📏 Height: Growing by the day
🎨 Color: Chestnut
🐎 Breed: Warmblood (bred by Smokey River Sport Horses)

Affectionately known as the “baby giraffe,” Ren is in the midst of his lanky growing phase. As a weanling, he had to splay his front legs just to reach his nose to the ground, but despite his awkward phase, he’s already a big personality in the herd.

Out in the field, Ren is like a playful puppy dog, following you around to see what’s going on and always hoping for a few extra snuggles. He’s a social butterfly, constantly encouraging his buddies to join him in a game and keeping everyone on their toes!

This year, Ren has started work under saddle, and we are incredibly excited to see where his exceptional movement takes him in the coming years.
