We can’t wait until they’re brought back to be released! Tiny little turtle babies are in the near future 🥹🥹

We collected our first clutch of at-risk turtle eggs this week from the Woodlands Links Golf Course in Clinton! 🐢

The nest, of these turtles, was laid in a high-traffic and readily exposed area, so, with the required handling permits, we are incubating them in-house.

This allows us to ensure these hatchlings will avoid the risks associated with their location on the golf course.

We would like to extend a special 'Thank you!' to the amazing staff at Woodlands Links Golf Course ... they took the utmost care of the nest throughout the process!

Donors to our Adopt A Turtle program will be kept up-to-date with behind-the-scenes updates on these and future hatchlings throughout nesting season.

Please contribute to the campaign to support this conservation in action and keep up with the progress of The Woodland Eight!

We have an exciting update about our painted turtle eggs!! 🐢🥚

The Huron Stewardship Council came for a visit on Monday morning and uncovered EIGHT eggs in the bunker on #5! They have transported the eggs and will keep them in an incubator until they safely hatch sometime in August. Once the eggs hatch, the baby turtles will be brought back to our course and released near one of our ponds!

A painted turtle has chosen the bunker on #5 as the perfect place to lay her eggs! 🐢🥚

The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority has supplied a cage to protect the eggs, so please do your best to avoid the area when you’re out on the course. The eggs won’t hatch for around 60-90 days, meaning the cage will be around for the majority of the season!

After all, we are a golf course the way nature intended! 🌿

Registration for our FIRST Chapman format tournament of the summer is officially open! This is a two player, handicapped tournament, with each team consisting of one male and one female.
