One of the things people struggle with when it comes to their weight loss journey, is finding recipes that are not only healthy but super easy. Sometimes you just need to think easy to make easy. This here is thick chopped veggies and 2 chicken breasts that I cut into chunks. I put the chicken in one bowl and tossed it with some sea salt, black pepper and olive oil. I put the veggies in another bowl and tossed them with olive oil, minced garlic, sea salt, black pepper, nutritional yeast and dehydrated onions. I dumped the veggies in a Pyrex roasting dish and then poured the chicken right on top of the veggies and popped it in a preheated 400 degree oven for 35 minutes. DELISH and EASY! Took 15 minutes to prep and came out with perfectly cooked meat and veggies that were cooked but still on the crunchy side.

When working to plan your meals and stuck in a notion of clean eating being complicated try to see if you can make recipes that consist of 5 or less ingredients that you can prepare in less than 20 minutes.

A vitally important message to absorb and take in. When it comes to weight loss journeys, you are going to always be in the body you are in now and it is a real disservice to pick yourself apart at any stage along the path. You think you'll love your thighs when you get to your goal? Or your stomach? HELL NO. You won't. Trust me, you won't. You will however, come to have an appreciation for them if you start to love the skin you are in RIGHT NOW! This is your one and only body you guys. Make a point everyday to acknowledge a part that bothers you and find something positive to say about it. Your body is not a negative thing, only the thoughts you choose to attach to it.

It's not as easy as it sounds. It's like breaking up from an abusive relationship. It's takes strength and courage that comes from deep within. It takes that right moment where you scream "ENOUGH" and you reach out for that hand that has been waiting for you to grab a hold of. That hand that has never given up on you and has always understood that it's NOT an easy road.

"But, I just can't help myself. If it's there, I have to eat it"

That's what I want to help you beat! I remember how difficult it was to stop giving food all the power but it CAN be accomplished. You just need the right support, with the right tools.

Have you ever wondered why you struggle to lose weight and keep it off? I mean, you DO all the right things right? You try all the diets and you lose weight but then something happens and you're not only back at square 1 but you have an additional 10 pounds to lose. What the heck is going on and why can't you stick to a diet? I mean, you probably go into it saying, "This is it, I've got this and I am totally going to lose 50 pounds and stick with this forever" but then the cravings that start out as a whisper, turn into a loud roar and those Cheetos in your pantry, that you swear are just for your kids lunches, are SCREAMING your name and before you know it, the bag is gone and you're off to the store to replace it. THEN you feel like you have failed and just quit all together. Am I right? Does this sound like you?

People will say to you "just eat right and exercise, it's that simple". Is it REALLY that simple? Not if you have a food addiction or disordered behaviours towards food and eating. So many are quick to judge what they don't know and when I say "I get it". I really do. I have been the girl in the size 22/24 clothes. I have been the one to say "Tomorrow, I start my new life but first, let my finish off all my goodies in my house so I'm not tempted". I've also been the one to look at myself in photos and say "I can't believe how big I've gotten" and then break down into tears and get swallowed up by the self hatred, that nobody ever saw because I hid it so very very well. Does this sound familiar?

Now, I am not a therapist or doctor so I can't go diagnosing people with anything but I do work with people just like you to help support and give strategies to HELP you gain control of something that is not as easy as those "people" make it out to be. Let's talk about what some of the symptoms of Food Addiction are and let's see if you'd be open to me giving you a helping hand.

This link has 8 of the most common symptoms of food addiction. https://authoritynutrition.com/8-symptoms-of-food-addiction/

Give it a read and see if these apply to you. I know they sure applied to me and to be honest, some of them STILL apply to me even though I am 130 pounds lighter than before. I have them under control now and that's what I would like to be able to do for you. Help you gain control so that you can create your own steps to your own success!

I had put my "business" page here on hold for a bit, while I was reassessing what my real objective for having it here really meant for me.

I have a passion. And that passion is to help people get control of their weight and weight related health issues. I love to give people the skills and strategies needed to teach them how to adopt healthier eating habits, learn to control their cravings and no longer be afraid to adopt fitness in their lives.

Many of you who follow me know that I run free groups here on Facebook and those groups traditionally have involved accountability to food choices and fitness check ins but I found that I was only really able to help kickstart those people who were already in the healthier weight range and not people who genuinely struggled to gain control. So last month I started a group that was completely different from anything I have run before and that group has been dedicated solely to those who are 50+ pounds overweight and who have been battling their weight for over 2 years and I knew it would be challenging and would have to tap into some difficult subjects but it has opened my eyes as to EXACTLY what I want and NEED to be doing.

Because of this group I am running, a doctor out of Edmonton Alberta, Canada reached out to me to see if I would be interested in joining forces with his team to offer my services doing online counselling for those who join his weight loss program. This gentleman sees the health crisis caused by the obesity epidemic first hand and genuinely wants to reach out and help people turn their lives around by integrating his medical services with my knowledge and experience of the addictions and behaviours behind the problem.

So, what does this mean for you and for the future of my page? Well, I am am going to change the focus to food addiction and disordered behaviours towards food and eating. I will do my best to give strategies and answer questions. I will be creating groups on Facebook where I can lead online food addicts type meetings where you can participate with others who are in the same boat. These groups will offer my advice and experience as well as medical knowledge from Dr. Gross, who will join the conversations when his schedule allows. This page will be a great resource to information on some day to day strategies as well as information on when groups will be starting and who they are targeted towards.

I will give more information about all of this in another post but I am extremely excited to walk down this new path and I am open to any questions you may have for me. This is an extremely new project so there will be kinks to iron out along the way but I am here if you need someone to reach out to.

If you are in the Edmonton area and are in need of a doctor who WANTS to work with you then please call 780-761-9111 and mention that you want to join the weight reduction program. There will be little no no wait time for you to be seen and just let them know that Jennifer Roblin sent you. Again, it's all free of charge, I'm not getting any kick backs for this. I truly want to do what I can to help change the world, one pound at a time!

PS...you don't need to be in the Edmonton area to take advantage of my services.

What is coaching to me?

It's not about making a sale or shovelling shake propaganda down your throat. It's about talking with people about what inspires them to change and helping them navigate through all the boat loads of information and guiding you on a path that works for you. No two people are alike, just like no two weight loss strategies are alike. I focus on the person, not the $$. I don't care if people buy from me, in fact majority of my coaching groups are filled with people who have never made a single purchase but I don't care about that because that is what helping is all about. Reaching out without expectation of monetary wealth.

So to the people who have messaged me over the last few days with criticism of my "agenda". Please take a moment to maybe ask me a question first before making an assumption.

I'd like to share a quote of mine from a group I am in because it is relevant to everyone who is on a weight loss journey and feeling like they NEED to cut foods out of their diet.

Deprivation of food is a bad plan and the second you say "hey there cookie, I can't ever eat you again so let me binge on you and your friends tonight so that we can permanently break up tomorrow", you have just set yourself up for failure. A healthy diet needs to have some room for indulging and the cookie isn't the enemy, it's the amount of cookies that is the problem and your own will power being the enemy. Stop looking at it as a diet because it should never be that, it's a lifestyle choice and needs to be looked at as "I need to do this forever".

Was talking with a lady last night about why she keeps falling back into the old habits that keep her from reaching her goals and one of her biggest problems is that she finds her husband isn't supportive of her as far as what foods he eats around her. She holds some resentment because he is active, fit and can eat anything he wants and portions that she finds to be unfair. I come across the "unsupportive partner" issue a lot and it's astounding how many people give up because their partner won't do what they are doing.

True story, at my biggest weight (250lbs) and highest size (22), I was married to a man who was a triathlete. He was slender, toned and fit. That dude could eat an entire pizza plus chicken wings and dessert and not gain anything and I hated him for it. I'd ask him on several occasions to quit that and eat healthy with me to support me. He'd always say "sure, I'll do that with you and I'll even workout with you". Then the attempts at exercise would begin and I'd always feel like he was attacking me with what I know now were just words of encouragement and advice to avoid injury but my brain saw it as a personal attack and I'd get mad at him. Then I'd catch him "cheating" with the diet plan and I'd get so angry at him for sabotaging me and I'd quit.

SAY WHAT? Who was the one who needed to change? Who was the one who needed to learn how to make the healthy choices? Who was the one who had the weight problem? ME! All me. At the end of the day, if YOU are wanting to change your current lifestyle to adopt a healthier one to lose weight then YOU are the one who is accountable to yourself. NOT the people around you. If you are serious about the commitment then you will be serious about the choices. Like I said to the lady I was speaking with last night, "who is the one wanting to reach a goal?". YOU are. Of course it is easier when you have support from a loved one but you know what? You can't blame them for your failures because they aren't on the same page as you. It took me finally seeing that myself for me to start accepting that I was the one with the problem and not my ex husband. It was when I stopped blaming him for my ice cream binges that I finally gained the control and started permanently losing the weight (120+pounds). It wasn't because of him eating lasagna when he promised to eat salad that was making me quit. It was me quitting because I just couldn't be bothered to be stronger to take control of my own choices.

Make your own choices and stand behind them because it's YOUR life and YOUR consequences when you make YOUR decisions.

So you want to make changes to lose weight and get healthy but don't want to do anything that is too hard. I hate to break it to you but making changes that you need to adapt and practice for the rest of your life is not easy to start. It is hard and will make you uncomfortable, which is why a staggering number of people give up and go back to what is easy sooooooooooo repeat after me...

I CAN do hard things!

100 days sounds like a lot but it's just a shade over 3 months and that goes by in a snap! The biggest reason I hear for people to not go to the gym is "it's too expensive". You know what! You're right, it is expensive BUT if you look at it in a way of "what's my health worth?", it's not so expensive all of a sudden.

Maybe you're like me and just flat out hate going to the gym, I hate it and it gives me
anxiety, well then find a gym that can come to you. "Oh but that's too expensive as well and I will never motivate myself to do it if I wasted my money on a program I don't like". Again, ask yourself "what is my health worth?". And how much are you willing to spend on your health? If I told you I had something that would only cost you $99US for an entire year for unlimited workout programs, meal plans, nutritional advice, support and could workout from anywhere as long as you had wifi and a streaming device, would you be interested?

What is your health worth to you?

A harsh reality for you all. If you're not ready to make changes, then don't expect changes to happen.

I'm seeing already, on January 2nd, the "reasons" why people WILL fail with their weight loss and fitness goals. Things like "I refuse to count calories or be a slave to portion sizes" or "I hate exercise, won't do it but I need tips on how to tone my body"

One of the definitions of Insanity is, "doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results". It's a fact that if you want to lose weight and get fit, you need to change the relationship you have with food AND exercise. Simple as that. If you want to lose weight but not exercise, that can be accomplished but don't expect the body of someone who dedicates time to themselves breaking a sweat. Nobody said it would be easy and nobody said there wouldn't be hard work involved but the answer is simple and the reward for the effort is undeniable!

If you have excuses, you won't succeed and that's a fact. If you have excuses, you'll always find a reason to stay where you are at and there is NOTHING wrong with that as long as you're content. If you're seriously ready to make a change, then adopt the changes that need to be made.
