Life is Hard! Racing is harder! Choose your hard!
Any and every racer and race team member will agree that doing what we do isn’t easy. As a matter of fact it take a sh*t ton of effort, commitment and it is flat out hard!
Back back in the 90s. We built on something some of our family traditions and starting building a team. Much like building something of Lego. 30 years later the team has a solid core and is about as stout as ever. Just a little older.
This week saw us racing last Friday. Washing and maintenance on the weekend. Loading and firing The bad ass Sawyer Lind Motorsports car and firing it with its new motor. Tuesday saw us complete the 1200 for Deming, Wednesday saw us unload 9s and reload the 1200.
Friday had us racing the ultra Fast Deming Speedway where we set quick time 3rd in the heat, and 6th in the feature.
Saturday, the team wanted to meet at 8:30(after getting home from Deming close to midnight) Keep in mind. Most of us are I. Our 40s or 50s- that’s 3 hours past our bedtime!
We finished a couple things on the 83 Can Am Sprint Car and wrapped the Beautiful 9s
Washed the 1200 and loaded both Sprint cars.
And today, Sunday, we shook down and tested At Agassiz Speedway. Both cars out of the box were faster than ever before on old used tires… on a green race track.
A lot of our posts have focused on our Sponsorship Partners. And we couldn’t do this stuff without them.
But tonight’s post is about the team. The Hawgz- the guys that make this their team, their priority…they’re “hard!”
Jake Francis and Sawyer Lind Lead our team . Their experience, know how and leadership go a long way as the glue of this program
Mac White is not only a sponsor , but has stepped up and has become our fuel man
Jordon Francis is our tire guy and has been on top of our Tire Program
Ryan Seddon takes the lead in taking care of our pit equipment and trailer
Scott Adair has been on que recording every thing we do so that we can learn and improve on it.
Erin Hart has been our Idealmotoroil.com and AMSOIL INC. Partner for years. And is on Que and fills in where needed.
Devin Cross. Is not only my brother, but keeps me in check and dialed in getting my gear ready and strapping me in. ( I am a bit higher maintenance than I would like to admit )
is our newest team member and has done a great job getting himself up to speed and keeping the car spotless and pit cart clean and maintained
Ross Slater- SlaterShine Detailing is also a team member and sponsorship partner. He has done a lot of our aluminum polishing and detailing on our cars, tow rigs, and keeping our whole team looking professional
Dale Merritt is geographically challenged( lives in Kamloops now) but gets To as many of our races as possible and is on top of his game as soon as he gets there.
Brian MacKay has been a major part of our team for decades. And it’s great to have his knowledge. And be able to step in wherever. When needed.
Darin Miles- Always great to have him with us. His mechanical knowledge is phenomenal.
And last, but definitely not least! My Dad Jack Cross. He’s the reason this is all here. And on his game when we get to the races.
These guys deserve a huge amount of Credit for all they do
And of course. We can not do this without our partners!
