Haha Sunday scaries makes me scroll through my photos app looking for something in the past that was less intimidating than starting a new school year š
I landed in summer of 2017⦠when I deferred my Masters of Education with UofT (which I later ditched completely) to stay in Bali so I could be a dive instructor and teach yoga as a sub. š¤·š»āāļø Nusa Lembongan ended up being a magical place where I met Caroline ⢠Senior Yoga Teacher Trainer & Mentor and did Yin Yoga for the first time through the lens of Chinese Meridians.
You guys, I hated it and I loved it!
I hated it because my brain would NOT shut up.
I hated it because it demanded something of me that was not familiar - surrender - but not like giving up.
Surrender like letting go intentionally without clawing it back.
And I loved it because, with practice, the melt was like a win (surrender!) and I loved it because afterwards I floated home.
I loved it because it had me thinking about my body from a lens that was familiar yet unknown.
And I wanted to know more. What was this line? What is it linked to? Is this why Iām feeling this way?
Well several courses later and some time and confidence boosts Iām sharing my yin era with anyone who will give me the time!
Guess itās time to put practice into action, come back to 2026, and surrender to the new school year.
Thanks for travelling down memory lane with me š«¶
