After more than 30 years in the paddlesports industry, I am writing to share some important news. I have made the difficult decision to close this chapter of my professional life.
This was not a choice I made lightly. Over the years, the relationships we have built, the trust my brands and dealers have placed in me, and the shared successes we’ve experienced have meant more than I can fully express. Their loyalty and support have been the foundation of my business, and I am deeply grateful to all of them.
At the same time, I have felt a growing pull toward work that has become increasingly meaningful to me over the past two years. I am honoured to share that I have accepted a full-time role with the Terry Fox Foundation. In this new position, I will continue overseeing the Terry Fox Ride of Hope in communities across Canada, while also stepping into the role of Director of Community Development for British Columbia and the Yukon.
In this expanded role, I will be working closely with the incredible volunteers who organize the annual Terry Fox Run—individuals who dedicate their time and energy to raising funds for cancer research and bringing hope to cancer patients and their families across our country. It is a cause that resonates deeply with me, and I feel truly privileged to contribute to this important work in a greater capacity. It is also a full-circle moment for me as I saw Terry during his Marathon of Hope 46 years ago in Brampton, ON. He has always been a hero of mine.
While I am excited for this new chapter, it is not without a sense of bittersweet reflection. Saying goodbye to this business—and to the day-to-day interactions with so many of you—is not easy.
It's been an incredible adventure! Thank you for being a part of it.
With gratitude,
Nikki
