It is hard to put into words the emotions and feelings that are experienced at the end of a sports season. Some years are easier than others… this one is rough! The relationships that were built, the bonds created, the growth that was made, the adversity that was overcome, the intense desire to persevere, the “no quit” attitude. At the beginning of the season a quote was picked for this team… Warrior mentality: “Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference”. Our record did not always reflect the amount of success that we saw as individuals and even internally as a team. Their attitudes remained strong, their desire to stand up for one another even stronger! It truly did make the biggest difference! We could not be more proud of these players and what they accomplished this season! We would also like to extend a huge “Thank You” to all of the families and friends who made this possible for each one of them. The commitment to playing this level of hockey is not for the faint of heart. We are grateful for each and every one of you! We hope this season meant as much to you as it did to us! ❤️🌪️🥅🏒

Today we celebrated the holiday season with our family skate including our younger siblings… we even had a little sister hit the ice for her very first time! 💗 Then we followed that with the much anticipated Players vs Parents/Siblings game! It was hard fought battled that ended in an 8-8 tie! 😅 A great day for our Cyclones family!

Our U11 AAA Cyclones team and the entire is lifting the Caranci family up after the most unimaginable tragedy. Dante is the little brother of one of our U10 Cyclones players. We can’t begin to imagine the devastation this family is experiencing, and just a week before Christmas. We ask that you lift this family up in your thoughts and prayers. A loss of this magnitude affects us collectively and I know the grief we feel as a “hockey family” without even knowing them personally has been overwhelming. We also lift up his friends, family and hockey teammates during this extremely difficult time.

What a great day spent across the river yesterday! Our U11 AAA Cyclones started their action packed day taking in both the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs morning skates. They got to see how game day preparation at an elite level plays out. Glass taps, little chats, official NHL pucks and all! Then we munched on some burgers and tacos as a nice pre-game meal.

Next up we took on our friends/competitors the U11 Windsor Jr Spitfires in an exhibition game at the Red Wings training ice below Little Caesars Arena. Not the outcome we would have liked, but a good battle none-the-less! Fun swag from the Wings completed our attire to watch the ultimate local rivalry battle as the Detroit Red Wings took on the Toronto Maple Leafs!

Little did our players know that there was a surprise planned for 5 lucky players on our team. Last week Coach Tim told the players,
“Luck is when preperation meets opportunity”…
So they held a competition at practice on Tuesday that followed up on a previous challenge he had given the team. 5 lucky players earned a spot to tap the Red Wings players gloves before the game…they truly earned it and their preparation paid off!

Finally the battle of the Red and Blue! It was a fantastic action-packed game where Detroit came out victorious!

Grateful for these opportunities to spend time together as a team. Win or loose we are building on something pretty dang special and it is so fun to be a part of!

There’s More to Christmas...

So grateful our U11 Cyclones were able to participate in the Chatham Goodfellows “No Child Without A Christmas” for the 2nd year in a row. The opportunity to teach our young ones that the true spirit of Christmas is so much bigger than ourselves! To rally behind the Chatham-Kent community and help bring love and kindness to those in need on Christmas morning! ❤️🎄

It’s that time!! 🥂🎉 Our U11 AAA Cyclones hockey team is just wrapping up their Sysco fundraiser just in time for Christmas!! 🎄 It’s the perfect time to stock up on those appetizers for Christmas parties! Plus fill the freezer with steaks, chicken, fish, shrimp, cabbage rolls, and the list goes on… 🥩🍗🥓🍤 And now that the temperature has dropped it’s the perfect time to think of soup season! 🍲 And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love cookie dough, muffins and waffles!? 🍪🧇😍 Shoot us a DM and we will send you the “menu” of goodies!

Orders are due this Thursday, December 5. They will be delivered next Tuesday, December 10th. Perfect timing for Christmas!

We absolutely love your support! Funds raised will go towards additional ice time to keep on upping our game! ❤️🥅🏒

What a weekend!! 🤩Our U11s made the trip to the University of Notre Dame for the CCM Shootout and it did not disappoint! We finished 2-1-2 and in 6th place out of 18 teams from around the US and Canada! What an incredible experience to have together as a team. Huge strides were made. Celebrations were had. The memories countless! Now we head home and prepare to return to battle! 🔥🥅🏒

Never.give.up!!!! 👊 Going into the last 6 minutes of the game, down 0-4 and the battle kicked in. Scoring 4 unanswered goals to finish the game tied at 4… 2 in the last minute of the game! What an amazing finish, and “can’t stop, won’t stop” mentality! Congratulations Cyclones!! 🌪️🥅🏒❤️
