Do you love to sing, but wish there were more opportunities to sing with others?

This three-week chorale workshop is designed for adults and older youth who want to explore the joy of group singing in a welcoming, community-focused setting. Whether you have years of choir or theatre experience, or you simply enjoy singing and want to build confidence, this workshop will offer a supportive space to learn, connect, and make music together.

Led by an experienced guest instructor, the workshop will focus on vocal technique, ensemble singing, harmony, a ca****la skills, and the unique energy that comes from blending voices in a group. Participants will have the chance to strengthen their singing, learn new approaches to choral performance, and experience the fun of creating music alongside others.

This project is also about building something bigger. Chatham-Kent has many talented singers, but there are not always enough secular, community-based opportunities for people to sing together outside of church choirs, theatre productions, or one-time performances. This workshop is a step toward connecting those voices, encouraging new musical friendships, and imagining future opportunities for local choruses, small ensembles, and community performances.

No perfect voice is required. Just bring your curiosity, your love of singing, and a willingness to be part of something new.

We’re excited to offer a FREE Dance Mobility & Injury-Prevention Class for our current dancers on Thursday, February 26th from 6:45–7:45 PM at Ascension Dance.

This class will be led by Dr. Mitch Ormond of Chiropractic Wellness Centre and is designed to help dancers move better, feel stronger, and reduce common aches before they turn into injuries.

Many dancers are naturally flexible, but mobility is about more than stretching — it’s about how well the joints move and how much control dancers have in those ranges. When joints don’t move well, other areas compensate, which can lead to recurring tightness or discomfort.

During this session, we’ll focus on:
Hip mobility (important for turnout and jumps)
Ankle strength and control
Spinal alignment and posture
Injury prevention strategies dancers can use right away

This is an educational, movement-based class appropriate for all dance levels. While it was created with dancers in mind, all are welcome to attend — including parents or community members who simply want to move better.

There is no cost to attend, but registration is required.

On Friday, January 30th, we are turning the studio into the Emerald City and hosting a full-day WICKED Themed PA Day Camp for ages 4–11.

The world is currently divided into two categories: those who have had "Defying Gravity" stuck in their heads for weeks, and those who are about to. If your household falls into the first category, we have the perfect solution for the upcoming PA Day. It’s a chance for your dancer to step away from the screen and into the spotlight. Whether they identify more with Elphaba’s power or Glinda’s popularity (or just really like the songs), there is a place for them here.

Production Schedule:
• The Moves: We’ll be teaching choreography in Ballet, Jazz, and Hip Hop set to the iconic soundtrack.
• The Experience: More than dance, performance too! We’ll do drama games, dress up in stage costumes, and use our green screen technology (chroma key) to film a digital dance movie.
• The Takeaway: You get a full day of coverage; they get a digital download of their performance to keep forever.
