The New Brunswick Senior Baseball League has been operating since 1929 and is considered one of the top senior leagues in Canada. Senior baseball is the highest level of non-professional baseball in the country with many ex-NCAA and professional players populating the league. In 2022, the league will consist of five teams - Fredericton, Chatham, Moncton,
Saint John, and Charlottetown. NBSBL games

begin mid-May and the playoffs typically run well into September. Senior Nationals run between the end of the regular season and the first round of the playoffs. The Charlottetown Islanders Baseball Club is committed to the development of an elite baseball program that will provide a competitive and high-quality baseball experience for both players and fans alike. The team will be well-schooled in the fundamentals of sound baseball and will be excellent ambassadors for the province, Baseball PEI, and team sponsors. In addition, it will focus on entertaining fans by featuring a first-rate facility, quality uniforms, music , promotions, and extensive media coverage.

In 2023, the Islanders would tie their total for most wins in the regular season with a 22-10 record, good for 1st place. The Islanders would later find themselves in a hole in the semi-finals of the 2023 playoffs against a very talented Moncton Mets team. The bats would come to life when it mattered most and the pitching staff would shut down the Mets attack as the Islanders would come back to win the series after going down 3-1. A back and forth series vs. the Fredericton Royals saw the Islanders win a tight Game 5 at home to give themselves a 3-2 series lead before completing the Championship in style on the road behind a 12 strike out performance by Brody McDonald as the Islanders would win their 3rd NBSBL Championship in franchise history.

Weekend split in Freddy.

Duncan Picketts and Dillon Doucette had back to back home runs in the third inning but that wasn’t enough as the Royals bats remained hot.
