Today the federal government announced that effective April 1, 2022 at 12:01am, all fully vaccinated travellers will no longer need to provide a negative COVID-19 test result prior to entering Canada by air, land, or water.
Randomized testing will still be in place and fully vaccinated travellers arriving to Canada from any country, may still need to take a COVID-19 molecular test if selected upon arrival. However, travellers who are selected for random testing will not be required to quarantine while awaiting their test result.
For both partially and unvaccinated travellers who are currently allowed to travel to Canada, the pre-entry testing requirements are not changing. All travellers 5yrs and older who do not qualify as fully vaccinated must continue to provide proof of an accepted type of pre-entry COVID-19 test result (unless otherwise exempt). Submitting information into the ArriveCAN app will still be required by all travellers prior to arrival in Canada.
