It’s not easy at any age... Jiu-Jitsu can be physically challenging Especially if you’re over 40. This post is a special shout-out to all my 40, 50, 60, 70 + ninjas who start and continue this journey. (Share your belt rank / age below) Jiu-jitsu is for everyone... BUT it takes a special mindset to continue this journey. Anyone can start (and should start) but not everyone continues. For me (I’m 2 months shy of 52) it’s about sustainability. How can I drag this out as long as I possibly can. I want to still be training on my last days here. But to accomplish this I must plot and scheme accordingly. It’s not just about how I train... but how I live. Am I eating healthy? Am I Consuming healthy - physically and mentally? Whatever goes in my body - comes out... what am I thinking, eating, absorbing.... so much to consider. My body does take a toll. Most days I feel amazing - other days I suffer silently. Rarely discouraged by my age - but truly (humbly) accepting and honoring exactly where I am. Proud to be 51. Oss
