Hello everyone,

Please take note that the Carstairs Pickleball Club will be having its Annual General Meeting on Saturday, May 23 at 9:00 am at the Outdoor Carstairs Pickleball Courts.

During the meeting, we will have an election to replace some members of the executive. The positions are

President
Vice-president
Treasurer
3 - Directors-at-large

If you wish to nominate someone for one of those positions or would like to run for a position yourself, please contact me directly ([email protected]) to let me know of your intention no later than May 22, 2026.

Please plan to attend the meeting. It will be great to see you. We will play Pickleball after the meeting.

(The meeting will be moved to Saturday, May 30th in case of inclement weather)

Carstairs Pickleball is currently in search of a Youth Pickleball Coordinator.
With the assistance of the Carstairs Pickleball Association this person will be responsible for coordinating youth times of play on the courts, youth training camps, and help with the youth PB in general.
This person can learn the game of Pickleball prior to starting the Youth Program and must enjoy working with kids under 18 years of age. A parent, grandparent, gym teacher, or just a good hearted person would be potential candidates for this volunteer position.
The person assuming the role of Youth Pickleball Coordinator and possibly any assistants must have the Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check.

Carstairs Pickleball Club 4th Annual Pickleball Fundraising Tournament

Date: Saturday May 9, 2026

9AM to 12:30 PM for players rated up to 3.0. Don’t know your rating, this is probably the Division for you.

The afternoon advanced session is full.

Maximum 20 players per session

Location: Hugh Sutherland High School in Carstairs

Cost: $50

Carstairs Pickleball Club 4th Annual Pickleball Fundraising Tournament

Help us raise funds to improve our pickleball courts including fencing between courts and a new outdoor pickleball surface.

Date: Saturday May 9, 2026

9AM to 12:30 PM for players rated up to 3.0. Don’t know your rating, this is probably the Division for you

1PM to 4:30 PM for players 3.0 and above (advance)

Maximum 20 players per session so register ASAP to guarantee you spot

Location: Hugh Sutherland High School in Carstairs

Cost: $45 for early bird price by April 30. May 1st the price goes up to $50

Please e-transer payment to [email protected] to reserve your spot. First come first serve.

We will be having a silent auction that will be also online.

We will also be having a 50/50 draw with tickets ranging from $5 to $20, so bring some cash to buy tickets.

Rules:

You will play with random partners against random teams.

Guarantee of 10 matches which will include 8 round robin games and then a best of 3 division final.

Matches are first to 11 (no need to win by 2 points)

12-minute timer will be used on each round, after the timer is up, if you are not at 11, you will go to rally score until one team reaches 11 points

The Division final that you will play in will be based on the ranking you get after the 8 round robin games. Most points scored (you win 11-3 you get 11 points and the people on the team get 3 points) if still tied it goes by total wins, if still tied it goes to least points against.

If we have enough of both female and male players, we may have an all-female division final and an all-male division final.

Division finals are best of 3.
