Booya!! Wiarton Nationals are headed to the ISCII Finals at 4pm!! They just finished up a 3-2 win with a last out diving catch by Matt Robbins in the bottom of the 9th inning! Go Nationals!

The Wiarton Nationals are about to leave for Quad Cities IA/IL for the ISC World Tournament and we would like to thank everybody who has supported us with our fundraisers and at our games.

Before we leave we will be partnering with the Wiarton Fire Fighters for their annual "Giant Roastbeef BBQ" on Sunday August 4th at the Wiarton Areana from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. (Adults $12/Children Under 12 $6).

You can also see the Wiarton Nationals as they help with many of the Rotary Club's games and other booths at the Wiarton Rotary Club's Village Fair on Monday August 5th.

If you want to catch a game before we leave for the ISC World Tournament there is one more home game on Thursday August 1st against the Durham Dodgers at 8:30 (Bluewater Park).

The NFL season starts in one month and we are going to be running our elimination football pool again. Last season our two winners split a pot of over $500 and with the recent success of our NHL Pool we hope the football pool grows again this year. Confirm your participation in the football pool as soon as possible by replying to this email or with a team member. It is $20 per entry into the pool (with a one-time opportunity to buy back into the pool if you are eliminated in the first week for $25). Simply pick one different team each week to win and if you are correct you continue on to the next week. More rules and information will be available as the season gets closer!

The Wiarton Nationals recently participated in the Cephas Roth Memorial Tounament in Tavistock, ON. This tournament had the posibility of granting the Nationals a birth to the 2014 ISC World Tournament.

Game #1 was a loss of 6-1 to the Simco Lighting. Andy Jackson went the full pull and picthed a complete game. Game 2 on the weekend came with a 3-1 win over the Midland Explorers by a complete came picthed by Matt Hamilton. This game was witness to Joel Twigger's solo shot. Game 3 was against the Jarvis Hallman Twins and came with a 12-2 loss. Both Andy Jackson and Matt Hamilton split the game with Matt taking the loss on the game.

A long weekend of ball ended with another loss to Elmira.
