Bow Valley Stand Up Paddleboarding & Surf Inc is a sports recreation company headquartered in Canmore, Alberta. It was formed in 2019 by Brandon Olsthoorn and Ryan Hamilton. Bow Valley Stand Up Paddleboarding & Surf offers stand-up paddle board (SUP) and surfboard rentals as well as lessons for all levels of experience. It also offers kayak and e-bike rentals, and group stand up paddle board excursions in both Canmore and Banff.

🔥 PEACE OUT, SPENCER 🌈🔥

After 6 summers with Bow Valley SUP & Surf, it’s once again time to say peace out to our boy Spencer as he heads off to firefighting school. 👨‍🚒

Spencer has been the definition of solid — wicked reliable, hard working, always ready to get s**t done, and somehow managed to become a pretty damn good paddler along the way. 😂

Six summers is a long time to be part of the crew, and after day 2 along he went from being an employee to being a good friend and a big part of the Bow Valley SUP family.

We’re stoked to see what’s next for you, Spence. You’re going to crush it.

You’ll definitely be missed around the shop, on the water, and probably most of all when something needs doing and we realize “s**t… Spencer isn’t here.” 😂

🚨 THE LOG JAM IS CLOSING IN! 🚨

This is your friendly reminder to stop “thinking about it” and get yourself registered 😜

We’re capping this year’s Bow Valley Log Jam at just 40( **not including dog registrations **) boards, which means spots are a whole lot harder to come by than in years past.

**We’re happy to announce that auction money raised will be donated to the . .isley registration of her dog inspired us to get more dogs in the race, so register your furry buddy and help us help pets in need🐶**

Expect some racing, possible carnage, questionable line choices, lots of laughs, and one seriously good day on the water—followed by the legendary after-party and auction 🍻

Many people have been sending us hate messages- clearly these people do not understand what we do, the time we have put into training and the fact our daily lives revolve around these rivers. Not to mention, they are following what they see online and have not done the proper research to see what the rivers are actually like right now.

‼️ Our lake lessons for the season are live!‼️

We’ve changed things up this summer-combining lessons and tours into one🎉No more standing in a circle… You’ll learn while paddling, exploring, and actually experiencing the lakes.

This summer 🍣 will be leading our weekly lessons. With over a decade guiding for BVS and experience on nearly every body of water in the park, there’s no one better to learn from. We’re the only crew offering guided SUP lessons within Banff National Park, which makes these sessions pretty special and unique!

Sue’s a busy backcountry chef + mountain explorer, so sessions are limited. If you’re thinking of getting out this summer, don’t wait to book your spot.

An added bonus- prices remain the same as last year🔥

🤷‍♂️Due to the ongoing confusion up at the Canmore reservoir with some 🐠’y signage we’ve decide to sadly stop all groups in Canmore.
All lessons will run in Banff National Park at Johnson Lake and Two Jack Lake.
