📈 Are you part of a planning team that hosted a CWE this year? Thank you SO much for all your hard work. These events wouldn't be possible with you. You can win an Elaine King signed MVP disc or one of 4 prize packs from the CWE Committee! Check your email for a survey link to provide feedback on this year's events. You have until July 15th to complete the survey to be entered into the draws. Winners will be drawn live online at our post events meeting July 29th at 8pm EST. ⏰

Thank you for an amazing CWE season! Every competitor, caddy, organizer, partner, supporter, volunteer, club, spotter, official, spectator, sponsor, photographer, tournament director and co-director made this a fantastic two months of tournaments across Canada.

As the events continue to grow and evolve, the CWE Committee will be sending out a survey link (by email this week) that any and all members of your planning team should complete. This feedback will help the committee to serve events better and review or change current procedures in place. Help us improve any way we can.

Every member of your planning team who completes the survey will be entered to win an MVP disc signed by Elaine King! Four additional prize packs will also be awarded for individuals, clubs, leagues or for other events you might be running this year. Keep a close eye on your inbox 👀

Winners will be drawn live at an online TD meeting Wednesday, July 29th at 8pm EST. The results of the survey and changes for next year will also be shared with everyone who can attend. Please mark this date on your calendars and plan to attend. Invitation links will be sent out by email a few days prior to the meeting.

Introducing one of our committee members, Tanya Ramsay! Tanya is an educator and also one of the owners of Disc Golf . She keeps our CWE meetings running smoothly, records minutes and keeps our financials in order too. She also is big into safety and pumpkin spice!

How long have you been an event TD?
I’ve been a TD for four years. My first event I ever played was a Discy Chicks CWE. The next month I hosted my own. I was also one of the TDs for the Canadian National Disc Golf Championships in 2025.

Share a memory from the first disc golf event you competed in:
It is very hard to select my best memory. I think I would have to say it's from the first tournament I ever played in. I had to crossing a water hazard at Riverside Park in Peterborough. The first round I played very cautious and the second round I went for it, and made it across the hazard!

As for being a TD
 My favourite memory is the opportunity to host so many first time players at my course and learned so many behind the scene parts being a TD! On top of that, I get to be a part of the amazing group women that support others across the country building the sport. It has been an honour to be a founding member of the Canadian Women’s Event committee.

What do you enjoy most about women's disc golf?
The thing I enjoy the most is women supporting women, and the sense of empowerment I get from organizing and running my own events. I love supporting others who may have felt just as incompetent, unsure, and nervous as me at first! If I can get out there and do it, I know anyone else can!

The first CWE in Paris, Ontario is only a few days away. Don't miss your opportunity to be a part of this monumental event. In celebration of women, a donation will be made to Nova Vita Domestic Violence Prevention Services, which provides shelter and support to at-risk women and their families.
