1. Competing = Comradery: when you step out to compete, you are not alone. Competition day is a great time to support and cheer for one another. There is nothing like facing challenges alongside your teammates.

2. Experience: Pressure testing your Jiu Jitsu will shine a light on areas you need to improve as well as reveal your strengths. This can give you valuable insight on where you should focus your training and you will progress in leaps and bounds.

3. Self Belief: Win or Lose, when you step out to compete you are showing up for yourself. It takes courage to compete and even if you lose, you can rest assured knowing you gave it your all and didn't back down.

Losing a match is not a total and utter defeat.
So long as you don't let it be...

The most valuable lessons in martial arts often come from times when we fall short.

The great thing is: we can transform our "failure" into growth. Learn from our mistakes and make the necessary adjustments to improve.

If you don't know how to improve and learn from a certain mistake you made, that's what the team is for. Ask a training partner for advice, consult a coach. We're all in it together!
