A year ago today I took ownership of my dream home- except in my dream it was Half the price! 😂
Here is a few things I have learned about home ownership:
1. Even if you are good at managing money and have never had to stress about money before- that's about to change!
2. All those projects you want to do... will get done... just probably not this year!
3. Home Depot will likely be visited more times in a month during a reno, than you will have been in your entire life. And no trip to home depot is complete without atleast 2 more trips to home depot for things you didnt know you would need (mostly misjudging how much wood is enough!)
4. Not all reno's go as planned. Especially when your house was built in 1890 on a massive bed of rocks.
5. Guys have a tendency to not trust girls with power tools... but why not?!
6. You are not supposed to have "spare parts" when assembling things.... but somehow I always end up with them
7. You will hang stuff up, and then change your mind about it ... several times
8. Painting sucks.
9. Dont take mom shopping for stuff for Reno's, because she goes Rogue and ends up convincing you to buy new patio furniture, and as a result ALMOST FORGET THE WOOD!!!
10. You cant put flowers in an as***le and call it a vase- so be careful who you buy a house with!
I am so thankful to everyone that has helped turn my house in to a home. Still lots of work to be done, and a million more memories to be made ❤🏡 cheers to a better year @ Hespeler, Ontario
