Hi everyone, I am Katherine Tremblay; I joined the North Star Drill Team in 2025 to be part of the pre-show for the RMCP musical ride hosted by the Athabasca Ag Society, I thought it would be a fun event and take me out of my normal comfort zone of barrel racing. I have had horses in my life for A LOT of years, its tarted with riding at home and in the wide open fields, small town jackpots, to being a member of the Alberta High School Rodeo Association in my high school years to continuing to go to barrel racing jackpots and rodeos later in life. I also helped as a leader of the equine 4H group and have been involved with the Athabasca Ag society over the years. Horses have always been an integral part of my life and I would not have it any other way, there are a lot of high and lows but the highs are euphoria on earth.

When I am not doing horse actives or riding, I work as an environmental consulting which allows me to also enjoy the beautiful outdoors, and my work sometimes takes me on a totally different type of adventure most days. I was honored to be asked to join this group of wonderful ladies on a trip to the 2026 Calgary Stampede Parade!

My favorite part of all of this is that I get to do these crazy adventures, barrel racing jackpots, and horse shenanigans with my daughter, Izzy.

Hello, my name is Izzy Tremblay
I have been riding horses ever since I was strong enough to hold up my pony’s feet to clean them. Horses are something I have learned more from then any classroom could teach me, hence why you will never see me in school but always see me out riding! My partners in crime for avoiding school at all costs are Shake, Pistol and my very first ever big horse Alley Cat who is 14 hands and ¾ so she barely counts as a big horse, but her personality makes up for it. When I’m not riding you will find me feeding my horse’s candy.

I am a member of the Alberta High School Rodeo Association, I participate in the events of barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying and breakaway roping. I also participated in various jackpots and horse related activities! I was a member of the 2025 North Star Drill Team that preformed prior to the RCMP Musical Ride hosted by the Athabasca Ag Society.

Outside of being in the barn 24/7 I also own my own accessory business called Full O’ Bubbly Creations. I have had this business since 2020, and I am thankful to continue to have my pieces in 7 stores in Alberta and 1 in Quebec. I also am lucky enough to have been in the French Immersion Program for the first 10 years of school, and I wouldn’t have it any other way, the opportunities that have been given to me thanks to my time in the program are something I will forever cherish! I also enjoy going to the gym and spending time learning new things everyday!

I am honored to be joining the team to attending the 2026 Calgary Stampede Parade. Horses are my life and will continue to be for a very long time. No matter what stress I am under or the chaos they sometimes create for me, the magical pull of the horse will forever have its ties deep in my heart!

Meet Sally Ells!

Sally has been horse-crazy for as long as she can remember. From spilling off her pony into a flooded spring ditch while riding double down the gravel road with her friend, to proudly showing off rearing on command with her mom's old mare, or galloping across the field at night under magical harvest moons, horses have always been at the heart of her happiest memories.

Her life philosophy is simple: "Why walk when you can ride?" And while she believes no hour spent in the saddle is ever wasted, you'll usually find her riding with a ba****ck pad instead of a saddle. Simply put, horses make Sally's heart sing - like a Disney princess twirling joyfully at the peak of her song. For Sally, horses represent pure childlike fun and freedom like nothing else.

Sally is incredibly excited to ride with the North Star Drill Team in the Calgary Stampede Parade alongside close friends during this special Year of the Horse. She is also so grateful to be sponsored by Richardson Environmental Consulting Services. For more than 15 years, Richardson has been far more than a workplace, it has been an amazing work family whose support and encouragement have meant the world to her.

Hey everyone! I'm Diana Ziegler, team captain of the North Star Drill Team. I'm thrilled to be riding with this talented group of cowgirls! With 25 years of experience on various drill teams and as a Pro Rodeo Grande entry team member, I'm loving every moment of it. When I'm not drilling, I enjoy competing in barrel racing, pole bending, cattle penning, and obstacle courses. I'm also passionate about mounted shooting, reining shows, and taking my horses out for a drive in my wagon or sleigh. I also love trail riding in the mountains with friends.

The North Star Drill Team Coach and Leader. Diana brings a vast amount of knowledge and experience to the group, she creates all the choreographed moves that the team does along with helping organize and run our practices.
