Don't fool with mother nature and ignore her warnings.
Recently updated the Lightening Policy, and with the guidance of we are sharing the current requirements.
🔺Everyone must leave the pitch. Goal posts and benches are excellent conductors of electricity ⚡
🔺A thirty minute period will be monitored by the referee, and restarted with ongoing thunder. After this period passes the game will resume should there be time remaining. Otherwise the game will be stopped and CUSA will reschedule the game. ⌚

Calgary Summer Soccer Survival Mode ☀️🌧️🌫️

One day it’s +30.
The next day it’s sideways rain.
Then the smoke rolls in.

But somehow… kickoff is still at 7:15. ⚽😂

Calgary soccer players are built different:
✅ sunscreen and bug spray in the bag
✅ hoodie in the car
✅ rain jacket on standby
✅ still arguing if the game should be cancelled

Yes, tonight's OUTDDOR games are CANCELLED.
💨🌬🌧Due to high winds and high rain forecasted for tonight, all CUSA Outdoor games are cancelled, including those on Artificial Turf.

💫This is not the typical approach for Artificial Turf - typically if the field is open the game is on. Today's high winds are forecasted to drop the temperature down to 1 degree Celsius, combined with high levels of rainfall in the evening hours, there are multiple factors that have been considerations for today's decision. Today's decision should not be taken as a "this will always happen" - today's weather is being treated as extreme weather.

🗓Games will be flagged for rescheduling and updated online as able.

Each team must send a representative to attend the AGM.

📌 If there needs to be a change to your team delegate, it must be submitted in writing by June 8th.

❗If a different delegate arrives without prior notice, their attendance will still be recorded, however they will not be eligible to vote.

This isn’t just frustrating — it’s a player safety issue.
