Authentic Jiu Jitsu Premier Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school led by Professor Ben Kool; a second degree black belt and graduate of the University of Calgary’s education program.

Authentic Jiu Jitsu is led by Professor Ben, a second degree black belt under fourth degree black belt Josh Russell. Ben's passion for combat sports led him to Gracie Barra Calgary in 2007 to learn the "gentle art". While studying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Ben also graduated from the University of Calgary with a degree in education (master of teaching program) and has worked in Alberta as a public scho

ol teacher. Ben takes pride in blending his professional knowledge of teaching with his extensive experience in Jiu Jitsu in order to create an environment that is enjoyable, challenging, and designed to optimize the potential of all students. The fellas were at it again this weekend in Las Vegas at the World No-Gi Championships! took second in his division and took double bronze (weight class and absolute).

We are always psyched to have members win at the highest level of the sport but even more proud to see these individuals display their technical ability, mental fortitude and sportsmanship during (and after…) tough matches. These major events are always a pressure cooker and handled it like seasoned vets.
