A lot of drilling and pipeline work in Western Canada only happens once the ground freezes hard enough to carry the equipment.

Muskeg and wet ground that can't support a rig in summer becomes a working site once winter access roads are in, and whatever gets trucked in has to run on its own power once it's there.

Vanair has built vehicle-mounted air and power systems for that kind of work since 1944, hydraulically driven and PTO-driven units that mount underdeck or on a service truck rather than taking up bed space with a standalone compressor.

There’s nothing better than seeing a project years later, still doing exactly what it was designed to do.

Recently, our team visited a BC mine and got to see a pump package Chamco built back in 2021.

The station runs two 100 HP Peerless vertical turbine pumps, built as a permanent installation to control mine water runoff.

Water collects at the low point, and the station lifts it back up to the site's water treatment plant, running as part of how the mine manages its own runoff.

This is proof that our work doesn't end at commissioning.

Packages like this one are still out there years later, doing the job they were built for, and we’re here to make sure of that.

Most plants get one real shutdown window a year.

The line that's been running nonstop since spring finally goes down, and the maintenance window that opens is short and non-negotiable.

A remote site doesn't have a gas station down the road.

It’s the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)’s Fire Prevention Week.

Most people picture smoke detectors and evacuation drills, but there's a piece of a building's fire protection that almost nobody thinks about: the pump that has to move water the second it's needed.

A fire pump that sits untested for months looks fine right up until it doesn't turn on, or turns on and can't hold pressure, or trips a breaker two minutes into a run it was never checked on.

Those are the failures nobody plans for, because they only show up under real load, in a real emergency.
