🥲Why JUSTIFYING Your Actions Is A Sabotaging Pattern That Destroys Your Relationships And Your Respect
From childhood, most of us learn a coping pattern: when we're criticized or punished, we explain ourselves. We justify. We believe that if we can just make the other person understand why we did what we did, the situation will resolve itself.
But it never does!
You tell yourself that you didn't intend to hurt someone…but you did, and if you are in integrity you will work to resolve the situation.
The only thing that truly resolves hurt is empathy 🥰 — feeling the impact your actions had on another person — and making amends. At the very least, a sincere apology. This is where most relationships get stuck, cycling through the same hurt feelings over and over again.
From a spiritual perspective 🙏, every difficult situation is an opportunity — a life lesson showing up to help you grow. The first time a lesson appears, it tends to be gentle, even forgiving. But each time it returns unlearned, it hits harder.
That's not punishment. That's an invitation to wake up and become a better person.
Here's The Truth:
Justifying erodes your self-respect.. It keeps negative energy accumulating and quietly sabotages every relationship you have because people lose respect for you.
Justifying is the opposite of taking responsibility. And responsibility is the foundation of respect — for others, and for yourself.
You don't lose when you own your actions. You grow. 🌱
This is one of the most significant patterns that breaks relationships apart. Recognizing it is your chance to change it. 💪
