Cascade Swimming

Cascade Swimming The Cascade Swim Club is Calgary's preeminent amateur swimming program.

At the Cascade Swim Club we bring in novice youth age swimmers (4&Up) and coach all the skills necessary to be a competitive swimmer. While at our program your swimmers become safe in an aquatic environment (indoor or outdoor pool, home pool, community lake, outdoor lake) because they learn how to swim well. The Cascade Swim Club has been serving the community of Calgary since 1968 originating as

the Acadia Swim Club in the Acadia pool which is still operates out of today. Cascade merged with the South Y Barracudas in 1973 to then solidify ourselves in the community as the Cascade Swim Club which we are currently known as. In the fifty-plus years that Cascade has been around thousands of young swimmers have stepped through on doors and on to the pool deck at one of our practices. Cascade is a progressive, inclusive and dynamic club that has collectively more than 150 years of coaching experience around our pool deck. Vision

We are Canadian Aquatic Leaders setting the standard for the pursuit of individual & team excellence. Mission

We will lead the swimming community by providing superior skill development and competitive experiences while embracing long term athlete development. Values

Check out this first edition of the brand new Canadian TAG Rankings! TAG (Top Age Group) Rankings used to be a mainstay piece in the Canadian swimming landscape - for those of you who were swimming yourselves "back in the day" the rankings used to be published monthly in "Swim" & "SwimNews" magazine by Swimming Hall of Fame inductee Nick Thierry.
Check them out!

TAG Rankings are back!

Nick Thierry was a coach, editor, statistician, and a founding member of the CSCA. For decades, he compiled and published TAG (Top Age Group) Rankings as part of his monthly SwimNews (formerly Swim Canada) magazine. Thierry created TAG with a simple purpose that carried enormous impact: give swimmers, coaches, and parents a trustworthy national benchmark.

The CSCA is very proud to relaunch TAG Rankings in digital form, to reconnect with its original mission: celebrating young swimmers, building national context, and inspiring the next generation. Today’s athletes may have instant access to results and stats, but the spirit of TAG — a clear, consistent, and motivating snapshot of the nation’s best — remains just as vital.

This relaunch is more than a revival of a familiar name. It’s a tribute to Nick Thierry’s lifelong dedication to the sport, and a continuation of the benchmark he built for Canadian swimming.

The technology has changed. The purpose hasn’t.
