Post-Event Update 🥌

It was an unanticipated weekend for Team Ashton/Gira at the Saville Mixed Doubles Classic in Edmonton. With Kris stepping back, the team was incredibly grateful to Cody Hall, who not only supported with is ice crew throughout the event but also stepped up in a major way to join Alex for the weekend.

While the results weren’t what they hoped for, finishing with a 1–3 record, the experience brought valuable lessons and solid competition. Alex is now setting sights on the next event — the Aly Jenkins Memorial, taking place November 21–23 in Martensville.

With some changes ahead, Alex will be continuing the season without Kris but remains focused and motivated for what’s to come.

A big thank you goes out to everyone for the continued support along the way. 🥌✨

🥌 Next Stop: Saville Mixed Doubles Classic!

Team Ashton/Gira is gearing up for the Saville Mixed Doubles Classic in Edmonton, running October 31 to November 2. The pair is looking forward to hitting the ice together and competing close to home, building on the momentum from a solid start to the season. 💪

All games will be streamed live through CurlingZone’s YouTube channel, with live scores and updates available on CurlingZone.

🥌 Martensville Mixed Doubles Wrap-Up

What a weekend! Logan and I had a solid run, making it to the Quarterfinals, but came up just short in the 8th end — a tough one-point finish.

A huge thank-you to Logan Ede for stepping in and playing great all weekend. Wishing him the best as he heads to Sault Ste. Marie, ON for his next men’s event! 👏

Gratitude as well to the Martensville Curling Club, and especially James Gordon, for putting in endless hours while still competing — your dedication shows in every athlete on the ice. 🙌

After a season off, Alex & Kris are back on the ice! With some shifts in the ACS series, we’ve reworked our game plan for this year, focusing all on balance — juggling multiple teams, personal commitments, and still bringing our best to the game we love. We’ve locked in 5 events for the season, building up to the Alberta Provincials in February.

Let’s make this season one to remember! 💪🔥
