Ethan Aspeslet-Asels Drives In Four To Seal Calgary Expos Victory Over Sylvan Lake Mariners
Ethan Aspeslet-Asels came the ballpark and meant business on Saturday, driving in four on three hits to lead the Calgary Expos past Sylvan Lake Mariners 15-3 on Saturday. Aspeslet-Asels drove in runs on a single in the fourth, a single in the fourth, and a single in the fifth.
Calgary Expos secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by Expos was led by Aspeslet-Asels, Jacob Hansen, Ian Shay, Rove Mitenko, Bennett Perrin, and Karstan Simmet-Iverson, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Calgary Expos got things started in the first inning when Perrin singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
The Expos tallied nine runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Aspeslet-Asels, Shay, Mitenko, Perrin, and Owen Bromley, a walk by Hansen, and an error on a ball put in play by Karstan Simmet-Iverson
Joseph Ell led things off on the mound for the Expos. Ell lasted four innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out six.
#19 started the game for Sylvan Lake Mariners. The hurler lasted four innings, allowing ten hits and 11 runs while striking out two. #9 threw one inning out of the bullpen.
The Expos saw the ball well today, racking up 14 hits in the game. Aspeslet-Asels, Mitenko, Perrin, and Bromley each collected multiple hits. Perrin, Mitenko, and Aspeslet-Asels each managed three hits to lead the Expos.
Bromley led the Expos with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with ten stolen bases.
Sylvan Lake Mariners stole eight bases during the game as three players stole more than one. #31 led the way with two.
