🛹 FLETCHER HOUSTON 🛹
Returning for a fourth year, this seasoned skate veteran is a legend at the Mahogany Community Skatepark. Originally from Australia with over 10 years of skateboarding under his belt. Here’s what Fletch had to say,” I got into skateboarding because my friends took me to Sport Chek, where I had won a raffle for a skateboard. I started skating and Never stopped again. I love teaching in Mahogany to see the progression of the kids. I always had people to look up to in skateboarding and I’m stoked to be that person for others now. My favourite tricks are backside flips and frontside tail slides, both have caused a lot of hype and pain over the years. A lot of slams!”

🛹 TARAS ROMASHCHENKO 🛹
Originally from the Ukraine, this is Taras’ third year joining us at the Skatepark. With over 20 years’ experience of skateboarding, he is a perfect fit on our team. He started his own business “Online Skate Shop” in 2011 and in 2018 added, “Play Skate Co.” and has now expanded into Canada! When he came to Canada in 2022, his English wasn’t the best but the international language of Skateboarding allowed him to share his love of the sport and build relationships with the newcomers to skateboarding. The friendships he’s built speak volumes as the young boarders gravitate to him wanting to learn the next best trick!

🛹 MEGHANA IYER 🛹
My name is Meghana Iyer, and I’m a media arts student at Alberta University of the Arts. I started skating at 16 years old, not knowing anything about it. I’ve been skating for 7 years now, and it’s the best thing on the planet! Skateboarding has been a creative outlet where I am able to express who I am. It’s a major influence and inspiration in the artworks I create. Skateboarding has introduced me to an amazing, passionate community that has been very special in my life. I have met the most incredible people through it. Skateboarding has led me to some remarkable opportunities. I’ve been fortunate enough to be featured in KingSkate Magazine, and SBC Skateboard Magazine. I’ve also done some film work. This is my second year working with the Mahogany Skatepark Team, and I cannot wait to share my knowledge and passion with others. It’s going to be a great summer!

🛹 MADI LONNEE 🛹
This girl can shred! With only four years of riding her own board, she comes from a long line of skateboarders and has been around in the skateboarding community almost all of her life!

🛹 ROAN STEWART 🛹
Roan Stewart was born in 2000 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and is an abstract artist/painter. His paintings have exhibited throughout Canada, the United States and Europe, along with his first solo exhibition at the Whyte Museum in Banff, Alberta, Canada. Roan is currently working towards an artist residency in Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A. Roan is also a passionate skateboarder and has been skateboarding for sixteen years. He currently has a sponsorship with Play Skate Co., a company originated in the U.K. and now in Calgary, Alberta. Roan dedicates his time and energy to his artwork and skateboarding, seamlessly merging his passion with his pastime.
