MATCH RESULT | CALGARY VIKINGS WIN BY 6 WICKETS

A professional and composed performance from the Vikings as we chased down 165 to secure an important victory against Shaheen Knights

A knock built on patience, discipline, and temperament. Raman anchored the chase brilliantly with 58 runs off 67 balls, finding the balance between absorbing pressure and keeping the scoreboard moving. His mature innings laid the foundation for the victory and deservedly earned him the Player of the Match award.

🤝 Great support came from Anand and Gurbaaj who played sensible cricket and stitched together valuable partnerships at crucial stages of the chase. Their calm approach ensured the innings stayed on track when the game demanded maturity.

With the ball, the Vikings bowlers set the tone early:
🔥 Pawan led the attack with a superb 4-wicket haul
🔥 Prince provided excellent support with 3 wickets

Together they helped restrict Shaheen Knights to 164, giving the batting unit a target that could be chased with discipline.
This victory was a true team effort. Every player contributed in their role, whether with bat, ball, or in the field. What stood out most was the composure shown throughout the contest. Despite plenty of noise and sledging from the opposition, the Vikings remained focused, respected the game, and responded with their cricket. A mature and professional performance from the entire squad.

A special mention to Ritesh captain of Shaheen Knights, for a very composed and responsible innings. He held one end together, absorbed pressure, and played a sensible knock that gave his team a competitive total to defend. A captain’s effort worthy of recognition.

🌧️ MATCH ABANDONED 🌧️

Unfortunately, today’s T20 match between Calgary Vikings and Calgary Yodhas at Walden Cricket Ground was abandoned due to persistent rainfall and unplayable conditions.

While it’s disappointing not to get on the field, player safety and ground conditions always come first. Sometimes the weather has the final say, and cricket teaches us patience as much as competition.

A huge thank you to both teams and officials for their understanding and cooperation.

Here’s hoping for clearer skies, warmer sunshine, and uninterrupted cricket in the days ahead. Wishing all teams across the league the very best for their upcoming fixtures and a successful season ahead. ☀️🏏

Not the result we were hoping for, as Calgary Vikings fell short by 19 runs against Legacy Legends.

A special mention to Raman .hundal for his fighting knock of 58 runs off 54 balls, holding the innings together and giving the team a chance in a challenging chase. 👏

Another standout performance came from Deepak who produced a brilliant hat-trick in the 18th over, helping restrict the opposition and keeping us in the contest. 🔥🎩

While the bowlers and fielders put in a commendable effort, the chase never quite gained momentum. The conditions required smart strike rotation and calculated batting, but we struggled to build partnerships and maintain the required run rate through the middle overs. A few too many dot balls and a defensive approach at crucial stages left us with too much to do in the end.

Cricket is a game of learning, adapting, and bouncing back. We’ll take the lessons from this match, regroup, and come back stronger in the games ahead.

Calgary Vikings put on a complete all-round performance to secure a massive 173-run win over Calgary County Mavericks after posting an imposing 236/6 in 20 overs and then bowling the opposition out for just 63.

🔥 Special shoutout to Raman Hundal for a truly extraordinary innings.

Coming in at No. 4, Raman .hundal took complete control of the game with a breathtaking 122 off just 49 balls, smashing 9 sixes and 9 fours along the way. Scoring a T20 century is special, but producing a knock of this caliber after arriving at the crease in the middle order makes it even more remarkable. His clean hitting, aggressive intent, and ability to accelerate from ball one turned the match into a one-sided affair and laid the foundation for a commanding Vikings victory.

Brutality from .hundal Raman Hundal at its absolute best.

The Vikings batter completely took over the game against Calgary County Mavericks with a sensational 122 off just 49 balls, bringing up his century in only 41 deliveries. An innings packed with fearless intent, clean striking, and nonstop pressure on the opposition.

Coming in at second down and still dominating the bowling attack at a strike rate of 248.98 makes this knock even more special. Raman kept the scoreboard flying from start to finish with 9 fours and 9 massive sixes across the park.
