The Friends of Bowness Trojans Football Foundation is a not for profit organization with the goal of raising funds for the necessary equipment to return and maintain the Football program to Bowness High School. MISSION STATEMENT
Working collaboratively with administrators, parents and the community to provide a competent, comprehensive, and dedicated program committed to developing student-athlet
es, perpetuating sports excellence, and developing strong leadership. Since then Bowness has seen much growth and development and over the years developed an established football tradition along with a reputation for having a strong football program winning several City Championships over the years, and graduating numerous notable alumnus. In 2013 the old wing of the original school was demolished to make way for a modernized and upgraded wing. The outcome of this was a significant reduction of the schools student population ultimately resulting in the Football program amalgamating with Sir Winston Churchill High School to make a team. This partnership while mutually beneficial for both school was meant to be a temporary solution. Churchill had the population and Bowness provided the difference makers and the combined program won a division III title in 2015. In 2016 the new wing of the High School was completed adding significant space and facilities including a state-of-the-art fitness training center for student athletes. Bowness currently has 1180 students and projected population growth is anticipated to be over 1400 students within a few years. Historically football has set the tone athletically and culturally at Bowness High School and in the Bowness community and there has been a void of that positive energy. As the school’s population and influence begin to return it is time to bring back the historical spirit and tradition to Bowness High School and the greater Bowness community.
