Boot or no boot… I got my answer this weekend. It’s a hard NO. But if you tape that ankle tight enough, you can still clutch like a champ.
First race of the season since the Summer Classic—and wow, what a way to come back. New softer springs and a fresh alignment gave Snowflake a whole new feel, which meant a brand-new learning curve for me. Milestone #1: Corded my tires in Race 1. Threw on fresh rubber for Race 2, feeling good… until corner 10 decided to humble me with a spin. Fought through the GT5 traffic, clawed my way back into the GT4 pack, and brought it home in P5.
Milestone #2: Closed out the weekend with a PB of 2:26.2 and another P5 in class.
I can’t thank everyone enough for making this weekend what it was—and for checking in to make sure I was good to race. From the amazing Calabogie staff, the volunteers, marshals, and the medical team… you all make this place feel like home. My girls feel it too, and that means everything. Big shoutout to Nigel & fam, -André Martel, Jérémi Martel, , , and of course for putting on another incredible event. And to my crew, you're my ultimate hype squad. Finally, … congrats on taking P1 in class! Racing alongside you (and riding that emotional rollercoaster together) is what makes weekends like this so special.
Sore, smiling, and already counting the days to the next one. Until then, Snowflake and I will be plotting our comeback. ### Vanny
