The 5th and final round of RACE Moto CA happened last weekend at Shannonville Motorsport Park along with Nelson Raceway 50th Anniversary. Alan wasn't planning to do the entire season but ended up attending all 5 rounds. After all the points were tabulated Alan brought the Black Fly Beverage Company Ninja 400 home in 2nd place in the Hindle Exhaust Lightweight class and 3rd overall in the middleweight class. The Dunlop tires from Pro 6 Cycle Inc. gave the bike awesome grip and fantastic wear all season. The VnM Sport undergear kept Alan cool and comfortable on the hot days of summer. Suspension work from Windmill Motorsports and Machine tamed the Shannonville bumps and 613Motorsports.com and Snow City Cycle Marine gave us all the parts we needed to keep the bike running its best.
The staff at RACEMoto came up with the novel and unique year-end awards for all the season podium winners.

The final weekend for VRRA 2026 was a good one. It started on Friday with the modern lightweight endurance win which we already posted about. It continued on Saturday where Alan won the modern lightweight heat race and finished third in the twins heat race. Late on Saturday Alan decided to enter a third class, post vintage invitational. He knew he would be starting at the back in Sundays race but figured it would be a good challenge.
Sunday morning 's modern lightweight final was a good one. Bernard Roy passed Alan on the back straight on the last lap but then made a minor mistake in Allen's corner and Alan was able to get by for the win giving him the championship for the season. As the bikes rolled out for the start of the BOTT final it began to pour rain. Alan did the warm-up lap but pulled off as the track was too wet for the dry slicks. In the post vintage invitational race Alan was starting last but got a good start and moved up with the bigger bikes and battled all race long with a Ducati just coming up short at the finish line for a third place finish. We have to thank the VRRA for putting on an awesome series and inviting all the modern lightweight bikes to join their vintage brethren.

Perfect sweep 🏆

Team Shoulder Check 2.0 closed off the final VRRA endurance race of the year with a 3 hour run on Long Track at Shannonville. After the dust had settled and the checkered flag dropped, TSC2.0 finished P1 by just 4km (1 lap ahead of P2).

4 rounds of endurance races - 4 wins. A solid race strategy and plan with minimal pit stops made all the difference.

One final weekend to go in 2 weeks for the 50th anniversary hosted by RACE Moto CA back at Shannonville.

Round 4 of the RACE Moto CA series is complete. Alan decided to take part in the Friday practice session to help out a couple of new riders and get some needed practice on the Shannonville Motorsport Park Pro Track layout. Qualifying on Saturday was held in perfect sunny conditions. Alan qualified in 3rd place in the lightweight class and 6th place in the middleweight class. The well used Dunlop tires continue to provide awesome amounts of grip despite the many laps they did at the last VRRA round. Saturday afternoon brought more great weather for the first races of the double header weekend. Alan got a mediocre start in the lightweight race and finished in 4th place behind 3 Super Sonic Road race school alumni. The middleweight race was a bit more exciting with Alan having a multi pass battle with Jeff Miller on his Aprilia RS660. Alan came out ahead to finish in 6th place exactly where he had qualified.
Sunday morning was raining and Alan chose to forgo practice in the hopes that the afternoon races would be in dry conditions. When it was time for the lightweight race the decision was made to go with the rain tires. The warmup lap showed that this was the wrong decision but the majority of the grid had made the same choice. Stefan Tanasic launched into 1st place with Alan hot on his tail on the dry race track and Gervais Antoine chasing them in 3rd place, This is the way they would finish. The 4th and 2nd place finishes in the 2 races gave Alan 2nd overall in lightweight for the weekend. The middleweight race was once again a battle between Alan and Jeff for 5th place with Alan managing to stay ahead to the end.
The next race for us will be the VRRA 3 hour endurance race at Shannonville Friday September 11th where Aaron Burns will be making his second appearance of the season as the team looks to continue their winning ways.

After winning the Modern Lightweight class in the endurance race on Friday with Pat Boyd, Alan had 2 Sprint classes to race on Saturday and Sunday. First up on Saturday was the Modern lightweight heat race, Alan followed Mikey Moore for 4 laps in second place. Unfortunately for Mikey he had a low side in turn 10 on the last lap giving Alan the victory over Bernard Roy by .002 of a second. The next heat race was the BOTT lightweight class. Alan started in 4th place in class on the 8th row as the Heavyweight and Middleweight classes are gridded first. Once again Alan found himself right behind Mikey as they went around a large group of bikes in turn 1. This time Alan was able to get past Mikey and use the leading middleweight racer as a blocker to win the heat race.
In Sundays finals Alan led the modern lightweight race for 2 laps before Istvan Hidvegi got past and motored away for the win. Alan then had a drafting battle with Chris Shea ultimately coming out on the losing end for a 3rd place finish. The final race of the day was the BOTT lightweight class. Alan started in the 6th row behind all the Heavyweight and Middleweight twins bikes a great start saw him get by a bunch of bikes in turn 1 and 2. Once again Istvan passed and took off. Several other riders followed and Alan finished in 6th place just behind Bernard after a last lap drafting pass.

After 9 days at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park its time for round 3 of the VRRA endurance series. Pat Boyd makes his return to the team after some boating adventures. It was the final round of the 2026 Bridgestone Canadian Superbike Championship at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and Alan decided at the last minute to enter the SuperSonic Roadrace school lightweight production class. He didn't do the Thursday track day, so Friday morning was his first time on track and first time on the Bridgestone slicks. It was an okay session getting reacquainted with one of Canada's fastest tracks. Turn 2 has a few new bumps that meant adjusting his lines was necessary. Afternoon Qualifying was the second time on track and he managed to qualify in 10th place but another rider had an issue on the dyno test so that moved him to 9th place.
Saturday morning it was raining and tires became the subject of everyone's conversation. Luckily the track dries out for lightweight practice so no rain tires were needed. When it came time for the 1st race of the weekend however the track was closed due to heavy rain and lightning. That meant a new race schedule for Sunday with 2 lightweight races.
Sunday's weather was much nicer. Alan got a great start from the 3rd row and found himself in 6th place for the first couple of laps before the Mosport draft allowed 4 riders to get past him. He spent the next 10 laps looking for a way past, but couldn't do it and finished 10th with his fastest laps of the weekend.
The final race of the day Alan had a great start and was briefly in 5th place before a couple of bikes got by him on the Mario Andretti straightaway. The rest of the race was a drafting battle with Mason Archer with positions swapped a couple of times but at the end Alan was 7th.
