GO MACHINE GO !!!
.....

The recent resignation of Marin Therein as head coach of the Machine was a shock. Marin is towering figure in the water polo community, and one of the best coaches in Canada.

However, people’s priorities change, and while we hate to see him go, we all wish him the very best.

But just because Marin is gone doesn’t mean that the Machine is finished.

The Machine’s board of directors is working hard to keep our Club together. We ask you to remain confident that we’re doing everything we can to make sure the Club continues, and that the game goes on.

More news to come. GO MACHINE GO!!!

VERY COOL!!

Big news today on the Canadian Water Polo front:

Water Polo Canada to launch the Canadian Water Polo Hall of Fame
(July 29, 2020 – Ottawa, ON) – Water Polo Canada (WPC) is pleased to announce its plan to launch the Canadian Water Polo Hall of Fame (CWPHOF) in 2020 with the first inductions in 2021.

The purpose of the CWPHOF is to recognize and celebrate Canadian water polo teams and athletes' accomplishments, thereby fostering water polo's growth and enhancing the sport's visibility in Canada. Each year, the CWPHOF will recognize outstanding contributions and performances by groups and individuals in eight categories: Teams, Athletes, Coaches, Officials, Builders, Clubs, Historical Figures and Distinguished Alumni.

The CWPHOF is a project spearheaded by WPC alumni David Hart, and it has gained considerable support in recent years. WPC is pleased to finally see it come to fruition with the help of Alumni Ambassador Bill Meyer. The inaugural Hall of Fame Committee will be composed of the following people, who will each serve on the Committee for a minimum of two years (2020-2022).

2020 Hall of Fame Committee

David Hart (Chair)
Bill Shaw
Marilyn Thorington
Noah Miller
Marie-Claude Deslières
Christine Robinson
Mark Block
Bill Meyer
“The CWPHOF will provide a unique opportunity to highlight important accomplishments and to connect our present and future members with those from our sport’s illustrious past,” indicated David Hart, Chair of the Hall of Fame Committee.

This project will allow the community to revisit the rich history of Canadian water polo, and regional chapters will be established across Canada as part of the Hall of Fame. Water Polo Canada is looking forward to the official launch and recognizing our first class of inductees. We invite our past and present athletes to join WPC’s National Team Alumni Group on Facebook and follow WPC on social media for the latest news.

Great to see our friends returning to water polo!!

We're getting ready to get back in the pool! As Toronto enters into Stage 2 of Ontario’s restart phase today, the Shadow Water Polo Board of Directors is carefully considering the process of how the coaches and athletes return to water polo. In developing the plan, we are reviewing information provided by the City of Toronto, Water Polo Canada and Toronto Pan Am Sports Complex (our main training facility). Of utmost concern to us is the wellbeing of our coaches, athletes and parents. For that reason, we believe that the return to the pool will be gradual to ensure that all guidelines are adhered to.

The plan is fluid as guidelines are developed by our governing bodies. Follow us to ensure that you receive the most up-to-date information.
