Polly Rocket, Whipping J, Tequila SlamHer and Yolay OLÉ caught the TRAIN in Smithers this week for an epic bootcamp hosted by !

Freight Train is a world-class Jammer from Team USA who’s an iconic legend in the sport of Roller Derby. We may be in our off season right now but we dusted off our skates and learned some amazing drills we can perfect and try for our next season.

Last year BodyCount played our first Home Game in Burns Lake against the Coastal Crushers and this year we played them for their first Home Game in Kitimat.

This was the first time we’ve had a full BodyCount lineup on the track at the same time in a game and we held our own out there taking lead Jam and collecting 4 points and calling it off before the other team could snag some points.

Yolay OLÉ played her very first game this weekend and felt right at home out there on the track.

Tequila SlamHer is the jack of all trades and played every position. Whether Jamming or Blocking she can do it all!!

Twiggy Smalls is our Pivot who’s the eyes on the track! She has the hardest job flipping from offence to defence in an instant to help her Jammer get through and stop the other team’s jammer from making it through.

Whipping J held the team up as Captain and did a great job in her first official review. Well deserved!

Polly Rocket was awarded the BAZINGA award from the other team for coming out of nowhere and making her way through the pack.

Anna Sassin took a position off the track this game and ran the Bench while Cool-Aid headlined the track as Head Coach.

Big thanks to all of the volunteers, refs and players who made this game happen!! Derby in the North is on the rise and we’re proud to be part of it!!!

Two of our very own BodyCount skaters, Whipping J and Polly Rocket are heading down to Armstrong this weekend to play in the Track Attack tournament hosted by .

The Northern Smash-ups are a blended team of skaters from , , and and a few extra pickup players to round out the roster.

Today BodyCount hosted the Northern Nomads practice here in Burns Lake. We were missing lots of friends today but the practice was 🔥 as we gear up to play our first game against March 28th at the Roller Dome!

The Northwest BC Roller Derby League assembled a group of skaters from our four league teams Bulkley Valley Bruisers, North Coast Nightmares Roller Derby, Coastal Crushers and Burns Lake Bodycount eager to Travel for tournaments and games. These skaters meet up once a month to practice from Terrace, Kitimat, Smithers and Burns Lake.
