There’s a lot to cover for curriculum for the Hi-Browns & Apprentices. If you are at this belt level and want to be in the cycle for Black Belt, you must attend these classes to be able to be considered. These classes are focused & specialized to help students memorize & refine all their curriculum requirements.

and since we’re halfway through our Escrima weapons term, let’s jump back to December of last year, when our own Mr. Jacob was graduating to Black Belt and chose to do an Escrima form for the Extravaganza. 🙌🥋👌

No student had done an Escrima form before, so this was a first, and it certainly set the bar high! Mr. Jacob used his creativity & tricking skills to put together a completely original & highly dynamic form. 💥👏👊

MaTrix returns! Our popular martial arts tricking class is back for the Fall!

We will be holding team tryouts Saturday, September 19th, @1:45pm at the MGBBA Dojo. ✅

MaTrix is open to all Junior students Intermediate & up. Please sign up at the Dojo Front Lobby prior to the tryouts. No experience necessary! ✅

MaTrix is our tricking class, combining martial arts techniques, acrobatic moves from gymnastics, and creative flare from breakdancing. MaTrix is a high energy class that encourages progression & creativity through martial arts, using moves & tricks to create combos.💥

MaTrix is the perfect class for a student to take their skills to the next level. Our Instructors work closely with every student to help develop their own individual style, all while building a fun team atmosphere through friendly competition.

We had to bid farewell to our Instructor Mr. Daniel, as he took his last class this past Monday, before he heads out east for university to pursue his dreams!🙌👏👌

Mr. Dorland has been training at MGBBA for over 12 years, and worked his way from Tigers all the way to one of our top Third Dan Black Belts & Instructors. His work ethic on the mat is well known, and he developed his skills with creativity, becoming both a fearsome fighter to spar, and one the most dynamic, pushing his tricking skills to new levels. Daniel definitely embodies what it means to be a martial arts athlete.

With those skills, he was a big part of the rebirth of our martial arts tricking program, MaTrix, alongside his longtime training partner Mr. Owen. Without them, the program wouldn’t be where it is today, and they’ve inspired many classes of students, and for years to come.

A huge shout out to Mr. Daniel for all his hard work!!! 👏👏👏

We have to wish a special Happy Birthday to our very own Master Gee!!! 🎉🎂👏

A martial artist his entire life, Master Gee is the centre point of our MGBBA Team, and oversees many aspects of the Dojo. Starting out as a Tiger student himself, Master Gee has accumulated decades of training and teaching knowledge. He has utilized his experience to become an top Instructor in his own right, being able to work with any of all of our students, whatever the age or skill level, and making sure everyone is on the right track.

A Fifth Dan Master Instructor, Master Gee has travelled internationally to train and learn from some of the best martial arts practitioners & Instructors from around the world. As well, he is known to be a fierce competitor, holding the CMAF Black Belt Sparring Championship for a record 8 years. Taking on the mantle of Master Gee, he will always be the first to step up to lead the way.

Our Dojo wouldn’t be the same without Master Gee’s hard work! 👏👏👏

Our popular martial arts tricking class MaTrix will be back in September, so keep your eyes peeled for our sign up list appearing in the MGBBA Dojo Foyer soon!

MaTrix combines martial arts, movement, creativity, teamwork, and a lot of high energy & fun altogether in one unique class. This is open to all Junior students Intermediate & above, so if you’re interested in trying something new and learning some fun skills, make sure to sign up for our Tryouts when our notices are up! ✅
