Try going for a walk with your child/youth and have them wear a weighted vest. The amount of weight in these vests are adjustable. While your at it, wear one yourself! I had a fantastic cardio/muscle strength & endurance workout yesterday doing just that!

Kids with ASD and other special needs may have difficulty with sensing how their body feels and moves in space. Pushing, pulling and lifting heavy objects (weights) helps with this, while also strengthening their joints and muscles.

We would like to know how many children with Autism and other special needs are participating in gym class and other physical activities at school? and how much they enjoy these classes? Have any friends, family or co-workers that could help with this info.? Pls. ask them and let us know. Would love to hear the feedback!
