You may have noticed things have been quieter on our social media lately. With heavy hearts, we want to share that this year’s event has been canceled due to a family emergency—a decision that was incredibly difficult to make.

On July 22, 2025, the Hotte family welcomed their fourth child, baby Ida. What should have been a joyful celebration quickly turned into a fight for her life. Shortly after birth, Ida faced severe complications and was admitted to the NICU. Through the strength of an incredible medical team, unwavering community support, and many answered prayers, baby Ida pulled through. On August 5, 2025, the Hotte family was finally reunited at home, ready to begin life as a family of six.
Just three days later, on August 8, 2025, tragedy struck again. Matt Hotte was involved in a devastating head-on collision. His truck was torn in half, and he was ejected from the vehicle. He was airlifted to the hospital by STARS. Matt has already undergone multiple surgeries, remains intubated, and faces a long and difficult road to recovery.
As you can imagine, the Hotte family is enduring an incredibly painful and uncertain time. While we wish we could be counting down the days to our favourite event with all of you, right now, we are asking for grace, patience, and privacy as the family focuses on healing—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
This event, and this community, mean the world to the Hottes. Canceling was not a decision made lightly. We know how much love and support surrounds this family, and we ask that you please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
