People see the fighter in the ring.
They see the punches, the pressure, the victory.

What they don’t always see is the coach in the corner.

The coach who sacrifices his time, his energy, his weekends, his family time… all to make sure you are ready when those three rounds begin.

And when your bout is over, he doesn’t get to rest.

There are a dozen more fighters waiting for him.
Another game plan. Another set of instructions. Another fighter who needs his passion, his focus, and his belief.

Fighters are inherently selfish. And they should be. When that bell rings, it has to be about you.

But loyalty, discipline, and morals are what separate great fighters from the rest.

Never forget who stood in your corner when nobody else did.

Roger Mayweather gave decades of his life to boxing, first inside the ring as a two-division world champion, then from the corner as one of the most influential trainers of his generation.

Most famously, he helped shape his nephew Floyd Mayweather Jr., guiding him through a major part of his undefeated career and helping develop the defensive mastery, precision, discipline and ring IQ that became synonymous with Floyd’s name.

But Roger’s legacy is bigger than Floyd.

He gave knowledge, character and countless hours to the sport he loved.

The fighters he trained may be remembered.
The lessons he left behind will live on.
