When people make snide comments about all the babies I’m trying to get out of Gracie… THIS 👏🏼
Also it’s very cool to hear the stud he likes the best, bc that is Bones sire!
I want to be clear that we are very small. We don’t breed for the public and aren’t trying to get a ton of colts on the ground every year.
I happened upon an AMAZING mare who took me places in barrel racing I only dreamed of. I don’t have the money to go out and buy a horse like Gracie to replace her, but I sure hope and pray her babies are just like her.
I have 3 colts on the ground and 1 in utero, and she’s 21, so that might be it, but I sure hope not!
When I got her, before she even started winning for me, I told Will I wanted 100 of her. I wanted to be riding Gracie’s for the rest of my life, and I sure hope I can make that happen 💕
As far as Bones and the Smart Chic Olena stud goes, he is not a barrel horse but by far the most versatile horse we’ve ever had. He’s a wicked heel horse, showed in reining, you can brand on him, so broke and calm, and he is excellent at sorting at the ranch. And he’s Whitt’s p*e wee horse if that tells you about his mind.
Both these horses are old and I hate to think about the days we won’t have them, but THAT is why I am focusing on getting as many babies out of Gracie as I can.
And maybe… just maybe… I will let Will breed her to Smart Chic Olena for a Bones replacement 🥹
