Evening chores as the storm opens up in the sky to the north.

I will never stop taking pictures of the beautiful sky that surrounds us. It’s mystical and unknown. I adore it.

Early in May I went through the loss of a family member. It caused me to take a big step back in a lot of things.. social media seemed to be one of them.

I didn’t realize the impact the loss has on me until I went through all the motions of grieving and was ready to pick things back up.

It has been quite a while since I posted!!

May was full of so many great things that I need to share.

Spring lesson session #2 started up.

Barn rats are busy prepping for an upcoming show.

We hosted a farrier clinic and the barn rats got to make their own horse shoe.

I passed my EC rider level 3 and am halfway through my coaching journey.

We endured some storms and had many fits of laughter.

May was a great month and I cannot wait to see what June holds!!

Something to read for those going to Wheat City show in June

🏇 Spring competition season has officially kicked off across North America!

From local schooling shows to major venues like our hometown favorite, Events , riders everywhere are setting goals, preparing for competition, and getting back into the ring.

Along with the excitement of show season can also come nerves and performance anxiety, especially when expectations are high. The good news? Feeling nervous before a competition is completely normal, even for experienced riders.

Preparation plays a major role in building confidence. Practicing consistently, simulating the show environment at home, sticking to familiar routines, and having a clear plan for show day can all help reduce stress and improve focus.

Mental strategies such as visualization, identifying triggers, and breathing exercises may also help riders stay calm and present before entering the ring. Confidence doesn’t come from perfection; it comes from preparation, experience, and trusting both yourself and your horse.

I suggest everyone wear mittens and extra socks today for their lesson.

We have gotten rid of the wind but now we have the cold again! 🥶

Photo tax of our barn rats being silly in a lesson last week that was warm enough to wear shorts in!

It sure is nice to be able to do chores without having to wear goggles!! Calm at last.

With the increasing wind speeds, we have decided to cancel lessons tonight.

We lost 2 trees and I’m just hoping my farmer fix holds through this crazy weather 🤞

05/14/2026

Due to the high winds and a couple of down trees, there will be no programs during the day today.

We will evaluate how things are looking for lessons tonight. Hopefully the wind calms down so we can proceed with lessons.

Stay safe!!
