Brampton Boat Race (BBR) is a thrilling rowing competition organized annually by Brampton Malayalee Samajam (BMS). g Indian heritage. It is a miniature version of the Aranmula Snake boat race that happens every year in Kerala as part of the beautiful Onam festival celebrations. Brampton Boat Race, bringing the tradition of Kerala's Snake boat race, one of the first Boat races happening in North America, made a successful remarkable event filled with the vibes of Kerala with floral decorations, traditional warm welcome with Kerala Drums and authentic Kerala cultural programs with participation of political, social leaders as guests like Mayor Patrick Brown, Hon. President of Treasury Board Hon. Prabmeet Singh Sarkaria and MPP Amarjot Sandhu,Maninder Sidhu MP - Brampton East, Ontario Minister of Infrastructure Hon. Kinga Surma, Associate Minister Hon. Charmaine Williams, Graham McGregor MPP, Sheref Sabaway MPP, Consul General of India, Siddartha Nath, Superintendent Navdeep Chhinzer. The 13th Brampton Boat race was celebrated at Professor's Lake and was led by BMS president Kurian Prakanam. It was inaugurated with the virtual presence of India's business icon, Padmashree Dr MA Yousuf Ali. The pivotal support given by the Brampton Fire Team and Inspector Harry Dhillon and his Peel police team ensured the safety of participants and the crowd, hence making this event a huge success. The appearance of the Leader of the Official Opposition of Canada, The Hon. Pierre Poilievre, and his wife, Anaida Poilievre, also made this 13th BBR a colorful event filled with cheering moments for each Indian to be proud of having a significant event to display.
